Dealer Message - On January 16, 2019, Acura announced a warranty extension for certain 2009-14 Acura vehicles equipped with a 3.7L V6 engine to address client concerns related to excessive oil consumption. Acura extended the powertrain warranty coverage to address engine issues related to excessive oil consumption from the original 6 years/70,000 miles to 8 years/125,000 miles, whichever comes first. In addition, all vehicles were provided a grace period until August 31, 2019 and were covered regardless of time in service or mileage.

Service bulletin - A judder from the torque converter lock-up clutch may be felt while driving between 20 and 60 mph. The problem is typically diagnosed as a bad torque converter. American Honda investigated the judder and found that the torque converter was not causing the judder and the transmission is not damaged by this judder.

Service bulletin - After the software update, some vehicles, based on how they are driven (extreme conditions), may still experience ATF deterioration after updating the PGM-FI or A/T system and the shudder may return. The problem is typically diagnosedas a bad Torque Converter (TC). There is no damage to the TC, but because the ATF has deteriorated, it needs to be changed even though the "ATF Service Due" message has not appeared. Make sure the vehicle is updated by referring to the INSPECTION PROCEDURE.

AMERICAN HONDA IS WORKING ON A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT WILL MAINTAIN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TEMPERATURE WITHIN THE DESIRABLE RANGE UNDER ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND ELIMINATE THE POTENTIAL FOR THIS JUDDER. AMERICAN HONDA WILL REVISE THIS SERVICE BULLETIN WHEN THE SOFTWARE UPDATE IS AVAILABLE.

Dealer message - Today, November 8, 2016 Acura is announcing four warranty extensions for model years 2007-2013 Acura MDX and model years 2010-2012 Acura ZDX vehicles to address Active Damper System(ADS) dampers from failures in cold regions. Basic Problem Dampers with ADS use metal particles in the damper oil to control movement/recoil. In cold temperatures the oil inside the dampers has reduced viscosity and a gap is generated between the main seal and the rod guide. The iron particulates in the ADS oil are then deposited in this gap blocking the path of the moving oil which damages the seal resulting in an oil leak. Cavitation occurs once enough oil is lost and the damper cannot keep up with operation of wheel up and down movement.
