2024 ALTEC A-CLASS

Service bulletins

1 bulletin

Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

SIL-3270

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

ANSI A92.2 Standard for Vehicle-Mounted Elevating and Rotating aerial devices requires the use of an unlocking or enabling device before the use of boom positioning controls. As of September 2022, the standard changed to include an unlocking or enabling device before the use of platform posi-tioning controls. The affected A-CLASS model units were manufactured after the implementation date of the updated standard, but without such an interlock for the platform/bucket rotate function. The required interlocks for other boom functions are present. A compliant platform rotate interlock solution has been developed and is now available.

Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
