Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.
SIL-3228
Altec has learned that the radio remote controller may be missing one or more joysticks on certain AC65 cranes built from May 2024 to March 2025, equipped with the auxiliary winch and/or articulating jib options. This will prevent the operator from accessing the auxiliary winch and/or articulating jib functions when the radio remote controller is used.
SIL-3176
Altec has learned that the main control valve harness connectors can become brittle on the affected units. This can result in the harnesses cracking or breaking, allowing water into the harness and causing loss of function.
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
