The EC80 may set a fault or stop operating or malfunction. Safety systems that depend on the ECU such as ATC, ABS, ESP, Active Cruise Control (ACC), and Collision mitigation (CMS) systems may have diminished or lost functionality increasing the risk of a crash.

All other locations in the manual contain the correct torque value of 65 foot-pounds (88 Nâ¢m) for these cap screws. Torquing these cap screws to 250 foot-pounds (339 Nâ¢m) can result in breaking the bolts during rotation gearbox installation or maintenance. The Maintenance Manual has been updated to show the correct torque value.

After SIL-845 was released, OEM Controls joysticks continued to fail due to a faulty soldered connection. If this failure happens with the boom elevated, the operator in the platform will need another person to use the lower controls to lower the platform. The manufacturer has redesigned the connection and is providing a replacement joystick to eliminate this issue.

The brake pressure switch may allow brake fluid to seep past the diaphragm seal into the brake pressure switch electrical connector and associated fuse which can short the switch and/or fuse.

Torquing these cap screws to 325 foot-pounds can stretch them, causing loose mounting of the rotation gearbox. The Maintenance Manual has been updated to show the correct torque value. On the affected vehicles, the spline teeth in the windshield wiper arms may wear. This can result in a loss of wipers functioning correctly, reducing the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. If the driver has operated the windshield wipers as part of the recommended pre-trip inspection, the defect would likely be detectable during the inspection.

These vehicles may have a brake pressure sensor assembly that allows brake fluid to leak beyond the diaphragm seal into the pressure switch. The brake fluid may seep into the sensor's electrical components and short the brake pressure switch and the associated fuse. If brake fluid shorts the brake pressure switch and the associated fuse, the circuit can generate excessive heat that could result in a fire, increasing the risk of injury.

Altec has developed a product improvement using a triple-bonded hose with the electrical cable contained inside the center hose of the assembly.

A small number of remotes that have been exposed to or submerged in water have exhibited failures that can result in unintended winch operation, which increases the risk of injury.

The body compartment wiring on certain Altec aerial devices, digger derricks, and body-only units built from 2014 to 2021 contains an in-line fuse located close to the lighting in the compartment, while other units are fused upstream, closer to the power source. Altec has learned that the units affected should have an in-line fuse close to the lighting, but this fuse was not installed on some units. In addition, some units may have exposed terminals at the end of certain portions of the wiring in the body. If the exposed terminals contact each other or with ground, the resulting direct short could damage the body compartment lighting. Inspect the body compartment lighting circuit at the unit's next scheduled service interval or within six months of receiving the SIL, whichever comes first. Use the Inspection Procedure or contact Altec to perform the inspection. This inspection and repair are covered under the Altec Warranty Policy and can be performed by Altec, the customer, or the customer's warranty provider. Altec will perform the work for free at an Altec facility. If the customer or the customer's warranty provider performs the work, a warranty claim must be submitted to be reimbursed for the cost of the parts and/or labor.

This can cause slow unintended movement of a tool such as a pole puller cylinder that is connected to the tool circuit. A blanking plug must be installed to prevent this issue. Inspect the outrigger/tools control valve using the Inspection Procedure. The investigation has shown that improper wiring could have been installed for the PTO request module that interfaces the EZ Trac system with the Ford system, leading to the loss of functionality. Altec requires the vehicle to be inspected no later than the next preventive maintenance interval or 90 days from the receipt of this SIL, whichever comes first. If the inspection reveals nonconforming operation, the vehicle must be repaired by both an Altec technician and a Terra Drive Systems technician working together. Altec has discovered that certain AT200A aerial devices built from June 2020 to January 2021 could have square inside corners on a mounting frame side plate. The square corners can cause excessive stress levels in the side plate. Over time this could cause cracking of the side plate. Altec has redesigned the mounting frame side plate to have rounded corners, and has developed an update process using a template to add a radius to the corners on units in the field. Altec requires the mounting frame to be inspected on each unit no later than the next preventive maintenance interval or 90 days from the receipt of this SIL, whichever comes first. If the inspection confirms the mounting frame side plate has square corners, order the Mounting Frame Update Template Kit. Use the kit to update the mounting frame upon receipt. This inspection and repair are covered under the Altec Warranty Policy and can be performed by Altec, the customer, or the customer's warranty provider.

Chafing can occur on hoses at the rear of the turntable on certain LS60 aerial devices built from February 2018 to February 2021. Altec requires the hose routing to be inspected on the affected units no later than the next periodic maintenance interval or 60 days from the receipt of this SIL, whichever comes first. The Inspection Procedure can be completed by a customer in less than 30 minutes. If the inspection criteria are not met, the customer can order the Hose Securing Kit and any required replacements for damaged hoses. Install the kit and hoses within 90 days of the receipt of the SIL. This inspection and repair are covered under the Altec Warranty Policy and can be performed by Altec, the customer, or the customerâs warranty provider. Altec will perform the work for free at an Altec facility.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
Altec has learned that certain Rear-mounted LR7 units built from May 2019 to April 2021 have reports of the platform ribs separating from the platform shell near the bottom of the platform. The separation can be caused by excessive bouncing from road vibration if the upper boom is not properly secured. Altec recommends the platform be inspected using the procedure covered in the SIL notification document. A repair kit, part number 991298748, can be ordered by calling Altec.

Altec has learned that certain TS20-4P units built from 2019 to 2021 have fairlead rollers that do not consistently rotate freely. This operation can cause damage to the ropes. Altec requires that the levelwind fairleads be replaced within 60 days of receiving this notice.

Cummins has launched a customer satisfaction campaign for certain Cummins B6.7 diesel engines produced between August 26, 2020 and October 5, 2020, that may have been installed. Some of the affected vehicles may contain engine valve springs that could experience premature failure. As a result, the engine may have a loss of power and will result in a need for repairs. Contact your authorized Cummins Distributor for an appointment to correct the condition as described in the attached communication. The vehicle owner is responsible for making arrangements to have the work completed. Altec is not able to complete this repair. All work must be completed by an authorized Cummins Distributor.
