Safety systems that depend on the ECU such as ATC, ABS, ESP, Active Cruise Control (ACC), and Collision mitigation (CMS) systems may have diminished or lost functionality increasing the risk of a crash.

All other locations in the manual contain the correct torque value of 65 foot-pounds (88 Nâ¢m) for these cap screws. Torquing these cap screws to 250 foot-pounds (339 Nâ¢m) can result in breaking the bolts during rotation gearbox installation or maintenance. The Maintenance Manual has been updated to show the correct torque value.

Altec learned that a connection in the upper controls joystick in certain OEM Controls on AT238P aerial devices built from November 2020 to August 2022 can fail due to wire movement during use and issued SIL-845 to re-manufacture controllers in the field. After SIL-845 was released, OEM Controls joysticks continued to fail due to a faulty soldered connection. If this failure happens with the boom elevated, the operator in the platform will need another person to use the lower controls to lower the platform. The manufacturer has redesigned the connection and is providing a replacement joystick to eliminate this issue.

This may occur several times until the coil warms or until the ambient temperatures rise above a threshold. The customer should request a firmware update to remedy the issue.

The brake pressure switch may allow brake fluid to seep past the diaphragm seal into the brake pressure switch electrical connector and associated fuse which can short the switch and/or fuse.

Altec has learned that Section 8 of the Maintenance Manual for certain Altec LS60 aerial devices built from November 2017 to January 2023 contains an incorrect torque value of 325 foot-pounds for the rotation gearbox mounting cap screws. All other locations in the manual contain the correct torque value of 150 foot-pounds for these cap screws. Torquing these cap screws to 325 foot-pounds can stretch them, causing loose mounting of the rotation gearbox. The Maintenance Manual has been updated to show the correct torque value. The owner should request updated Maintenance Manuals by November 30, 2023.

Daimler Truck North America LLC (DTNA), on behalf of its Freightliner Truck Division and wholly owned subsidiary Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC), has decided a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2020 to 2022 model year Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, and Business Class M2 vehicles; and FCCC Shuttle, Business Class M2, and S2RV chassis model vehicles that is equipped with Altec equipment. On the affected vehicles, the spline teeth in the windshield wiper arms may wear. This can result in a loss of wipers functioning correctly, reducing the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. If the driver has operated the windshield wipers as part of the recommended pre-trip inspection, the defect would likely be detectable during the inspection.

On certain trucks equipped with an automatic transmission, if the automatic transmission is still in drive or reverse position and the stationary variable engine speed control or stationary PTO switch is engaged, the engine RPM will ramp up and may overcome parking brake hold capability resulting in possible unexpected vehicle movement. Unexpected movement of the truck can increase the risk of property damage or personal injury.

Peterbilt has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2020 through 2023 Model Year 536, 537, and 548 chassis built from 6/16/2020 through 1/25/2023 and equipped with Bendix air brakes. The brake pedal plunger which connects the brake pedal to the brake valve may dislodge after the pedal is fully depressed, and rapidly released (side slip foot brake release). If the plunger in the brake pedal assembly dislodges, the driver may be unable to apply the service brakes, which may increase the risk of a crash. The risk of the brake plunger dislodging may be reduced by slowly releasing the service brakes and not allowing the pedal to release rapidly.

Certain 2022 and 2023 model year (DJ) Ram 2500 Pickup, (D2) Ram 3500 Pickup, (DD) Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, (DP) Ram 4500/5500 Cab Chassis vehicles equipped with a 6.7L Cummins turbo diesel engine can experience an engine compartment fire originating from the Generation 1 solid state intake air grid heater relay. An electrical short in the relay can lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off. A vehicle fire can result in an increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle, as well as property damage.

Altec has learned that the hose/cable assembly can have a reduced life expectancy due to abrasion sustained during extension and retraction of the horizontal leg. Altec has developed a product improvement using a triple-bonded hose with the electrical cable contained inside the center hose of the assembly.

Warn Industries has decided that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in the handheld remote control device sold with WARN VR EVO winches. A small number of remotes that have been exposed to or submerged in water have exhibited failures that can result in unintended winch operation, which increases the risk of injury.
