Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from Ford that the rear-view camera could have intermittent rearview video image, no rearview video image, or poor image quality (Blurry, Foggy, Hazy) when the vehicle is in reverse gear creating a risk to motor vehicle safety in certain 2021-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles, including models F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 equipped with Altec equipment.

Altec Industries, Inc. has been notified by Ford Motor Company that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2020-2022 Model Year Super Duty and 2021-2022 Medium Truck vehicles equipped with 6.7L Diesel Engines that are equipped with certain Altec aerial devices or service bodies.

Altec could have provided a fall protection lanyard combination with a metal clasp connection point instead of a nylon connection point with the nylon loop harness. This can result in excessive wear on the personal fall protection attachment points on the affected units.
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
