Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Altec has learned that trailers with incandescent lighting are not compatible with the Altec supplied trailer plug on certain Altec units mounted on Freightliner M2 Plus and Legacy Chassis built from 2023 to 2025. This can cause the trailer lights to not turn on. The Altec supplied trailer plug is rated for LED lights and meets build specifications.

Altec Industries, Inc. has received notification from WIKA Mobile Control that a condition exists relating to motor vehicle safety, compliance, or emissions in a vehicle you possess that is equipped with Altec equipment. WIKA Mobile Control has decided a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Altec cranes equipped with S9 WIKA computers.
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
