Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.
CSR-3337
Altec Industries, Inc. has been notified by Samson that certain ropes manufactured between May 6 and May 12, 2026 could be mislabeled with incorrect strength ratings on the product tags and supporting certification documentation. These ropes were installed on certain Altec units and require replacement. Altec will mail replacement ropes, along with installation instructions, to affected owners as part of the notification process.
SIL 677
This service information letter (SIL) notified customers to inspect the electrical slip ring for proper installation. Slip rings found to be improperly installed are to be replaced.

Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
