Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.
SIL-3232
Altec could have provided a fall protection lanyard combination with a metal clasp connection point instead of a nylon connection point with the nylon loop harness. This can result in excessive wear on the personal fall protection attachment points on the affected units.
SIL-3148
Altec has learned that the handrail tubing and the vertical cross-member tubing of the steel platform could have developed cracks on certainT40P cable placers built from March 2016 to December 2021. Altec has developed a kit to repair the platform if cracks are present.
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
