Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
Phased Launch of Bosch MTS 6531 VCI Unit
Vehicle report
Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

A new type of throttle pedal needs an additional support bracket. The support bracket is installed in Production on vehicles after the VINs given. Before you install a new-type throttle pedal on a vehicle before the VINs given, you must bond a support bracket to the body extrusion. If you install a new-type throttle pedal on an earlier vehicle, you must do the Workshop Procedure that follows also to install a support bracket. Amended to show new kit of parts needed.

Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
