The continued coolant circulation pump sporadically fails.
A171566 2040644-
Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 15-64 dated June 3, 2015. A metallic whistling or grinding sound is heard from the engine compartment when the vehicle is at idle speed. The sound usually only occurs when the engine is warm. The MIL is sporadically on. DTCs are stored in the ECM. A leak in the crankcase breather module (pressure regulating valve) can cause this condition.

Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage.
37 14 30 2003658
This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. Customer states that the engine returns to idle speed of approximately 1,400 RPM although the accelerator is depressed, and/or the vehicle hesitates (lacks power on take-off).

The dashboard lights and controls may briefly flicker under hard acceleration after downshifting or when the engine is revved while the vehicle is stationary. The issue does not occur during normal driving, and all instrumentation continues to operate correctly. During periods of low electrical load (and especially when the battery is fully charged), the energy spike generated by the alternator due to the rapid increase in engine speed cannot be completely absorbed by the vehicle electrical system. This leads to a voltage increase that can cause some modules to initiate overvoltage protection. The condition is very brief and is considered normal.

Idle speed characteristic during cold start
A011369 2028344-
Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 12-57 dated October 29, 2012. Noises/inconsistent engine operation after cold start during the catalyst heating phase. The customer may interpret this engine roughness as misfiring. To comply with the legal requirements on exhaust gas emissions according to the LEV-1 and LEV-2 standards, a high exhaust gas quality must be ensured. The necessary catalyst only operates at a temperature over 300°C (572°F). To achieve this, the catalyst is heated up. The catalyst heating phase is achieved by a late ignition angles and by introducing additional fresh air to the exhaust valves (secondary air system). Late ignition angles make sure that the exhaust gas from the cylinders has a higher temperature. This exhaust gas includes fuel that is un-burnt, and was deliberately injected into great quantities. The secondary air system adds fresh air to the exhaust gas as it leaves the cylinder and the extra fuel is burnt. As a result, the temperatures of the exhaust gas and of the catalyst increase quickly. The afterburning in the exhaust manifold before the catalyst changes the sound characteristic of the engine. This heating-up of the catalyst, including afterburning, is normal and has no effect on the service life of the engine. During this catalyst heating phase, the engine has increased idle speed, may have increased vibrations, and has a different sound characteristic. Depending on conditions, the time of the catalyst heating phase varies.

Idle speed characteristic during cold start
A011257 2028344-
Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 12-51 dated July 18, 2012. As a result, the temperature of the exhaust gas and of the catalyst increases quickly. The afterburning in the exhaust manifold before catalyst changes the sound characteristic of the engine. This heating-up of the catalyst, including afterburning, is normal and has no effect on the service life of the engine. During this catalyst heating phase the engine has increased idle speed, may have increased vibrations, and a different sound characteristic. Depending on conditions the time of the catalyst heating phase varies.

Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
