Unable to charge High Voltage Battery with Bentley Home Charging Unit. Technical background: The Bentley Home Charging Unit can be protected from unauthorised use by creating a four-digit PIN. If the PIN authorisation function is activated it has to be entered in the Home Charging Unit before it is used to charge the High Voltage Battery. If a Customer forgets the assigned PIN it will not be possible to unlock the Bentley Home Charging Unit. Follow the steps within the Measure section to reset the PIN. Measure: If the Bentley Home Charging Unit PIN is forgotten the user manual suggests the Customer contact an authorised Bentley Retailer to enable PIN reset. Currently the PIN reset system is not available to Bentley Retailers, although a service solution is in progress. Should a Customer request PIN reset, please advise that a Personal Unlock Key (PUK) is included within the letter originally supplied with the Bentley Home Charging Unit. If the Customer enters the PUK into the Bentley Home Charging Unit a new PIN may be set.

This value is calculated by the Engine Control Module (ECM) and is based on the driver usage pattern The more cold starts the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) is exposed to the higher the chance of fuel making its way into the engine oil via the cylinders When the fuel calculation reaches the pre-programmed amount this then causes the DTC to be triggered

Customer statement / workshop findings: Bentley Home Charging Unit - Unable to recollect Personal Identification Number (PIN). Unable to charge High Voltage Battery with Bentley Home Charging Unit. Technical background: The Bentley Home Charging Unit can be protected from unauthorised use by creating a four-digit PIN. If the PIN authorisation function is activated it has to be entered in the Home Charging Unit before it is used to charge the High Voltage Battery. If a Customer forgets the assigned PIN it will not be possible to unlock the Bentley Home Charging Unit. Follow the steps within the 'Measure' section to reset the PIN.

Technical background: The Bentley Home Charging Unit IC-CPD (In Cable Control & Protection Device) is used to charge the high voltage battery on Bentley Hybrid vehicles. There is a legal requirement for home charging units supplied to Customers to have the Vehicle Charge Cable connected, currently the home charge unit and charging cables are supplied as individual items, this does not meet the required standard certified by Intertek (Certification agency).

Bentayga Hybrid - AC charging timer does not function. Customer statement / workshop findings: The AC charging timer does not function. The customer has difficulties with timed charging. Immediate charging works correctly, but when using timed charging there is a problem waking up the on board charger. Technical background: Currently in the event of an issue that causes the vehicle not wake correctly to begin charging at the requested time, the system cannot inform the customer that there has been an issue. Measure: With a confirmed Customer complaint of 'The AC charging timer does not function'. Check for a static event entry in the internal charger (address 00C6), if Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are stored then these must be resolved. Otherwise, no further action is necessary, raise an information only DISS referencing this TPI.

Customer statement / workshop findings High frequency noise audible from inside the cabin and/or when standing at the front of the vehicle, the noise is mainly evident whilst operating in hot ambient temperatures The noise increases with compressor speed and interior fan demand Technical background Upon receipt of a customer complaint for excessive HVAC compressor noise, Refer to the video on the Bentley Hub referencing TPI 2063725/- If the noise is as shown within the video, the customer should be advised that this is normal and does not represent a failure or malfunction on the vehicle Ensure customers of Hybrid vehicles are aware of the following: - The HVAC compressor is isolated to the High voltage system and is not controlled by the engine or engine speed - In conditions of high ambient temperature, the operation of the compressor can be audible - This is a known characteristic of this compressor and does not signify a fault Any other noise or fault which is not as described should be reported via an open DISS query The operative should wait for a response from Product Support before conducting any further work
