Customer statement / workshop findings: Unable to remove Accessory valve caps, Figure 1 shows an example of the caps. TheMeasure section of this TPI describes how and where to check for air leaks on the front and rear air springs, the air pump compressor, pipes, valve unit and air reservoirs. This includes potential air leak points on the air springs and also the locations of an air leak that can be repaired without the need to replace an air spring. These checks should be carried out in conjunction with the Elsapro procedure Air suspension: To check with the use of the special tool Air suspension leak tester VAS 751 001 shown in the image below as item ( 1). Service info: Engine oil Specific oil type and oil consumption dealer reference Customer statement / workshop findings: Engine oil level requires top up between services Technical background: The introduction of the Bentley Continental GT V8 brings a new engine to the Bentley family. This all new 4.0 litre V8 twin turbo joins the 6.0 litre W12 in the Continental range with the 6.75 litre V8 reserved for the Mulsanne. Each of these three engines had individual design criteria producing unique driving characteristics as a result each have individual lubrication requirements and oil consumption statistics. With the 4.0 litre V8 comes a new oil to Bentley - this new engine lubricant must only be used in the 4.0 litre V8. The use of the correct oil for each engine is critical to its continued performance, reliability and ultimately warranty. Therefor the workshop manual should always be the first point of reference ensuring the correct lubricant is used for each specific model year and engine type

Mulsanne exterior door mirror software update (SC13/03) Technical background: Bentley Motors has devised a Software Version Management (SVM) update which eliminates the possibility of a customer experiencing issues relating to the exterior door mirror power fold/unfold operation. The containment measure within the SVM update reduces mirror motor cut off time which prevents the door mirrors sticking and jolting sporadically during the power fold/unfold operation. The SVM update also prevents the possibility of a separate mirror related issue from occurring, the issue concerned can occur when the Fold mirrors function is selected to be On within the MMI as shown in Figure 1. Selecting this function allows the mirrors to be power folded when the vehicle is locked. Remedy: This Campaign must be carried out on all Mulsanne cars within the affected VIN range to ensure the cars prior to the VIN cut off are all at the same software level
