The sequence is required due to multiple electronic modules required to wake up and start communicating over the CAN (Controller Area Network) on EV Power Train Productâ.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
Cummins recently issued Temporary Repair Practice (TRP2484) for certain vehicles with DEF sensor failures in which DEF sensor replacement parts are not available. This provides a temporary ECM calibration that inhibits engine warning messages for communication errors with the DEF sensor allowing continued operation without engine derate. Regulators are allowing for this temporary calibration to be loaded in the engine ECM by a Cummins authorized repair location if the DEF sensor fails. This temporary calibration does not repair the failure therefore a final repair must be performed and the original calibration be re-installed. Field Service has been requesting an ECM image be uploaded within the support ticket as part of the diagnostics and is carried over into Service Update 2201 (SU2201). In order to receive an authorization code and utilize Cummins TRP2484, you must follow the process, as outlined in SU2201. The specific component affected is Assembly Code: 35-300 Emissions Components.

Overview: Certain 2013 through 2022 model year Blue Bird Vision School and Non-School Bus units has experienced signs of single strand failing, leading to multiple stands, and eventually belt failure. The belt composition is not ideal for the life cycle of the bus. This Service Bulletin will provide owners with a one-time new replacement belt with the more durable material that is currently being used in production and for service. This Service Bulletin is for part cost coverage only. No labor reimbursement will be provided. Affected Units: Blue Bird Body Company is voluntarily issuing a service bulletin for the following: o Certain model year 2013 through 2022 Blue Bird Vision School Buses omanufactured from January 10, 2012 through February 26, 2021 o Certain model year 2013 through 2022 Blue Bird Vision Non-School Buses omanufactured from November 20, 2012 through November 19, 2020 Repair Parts: The Parts List outlined in the S21AZ Instructions details the part required to perform Service Bulletin S19AZ and should be ordered through Blue Bird Service Parts. The belt is based on the engine generation. Parts are currently available. Time Allowance: No labor will be provided to replace the belt with a more durable material belt, per the published Service Bulletin instructions.

This modification will be done using the Roush Diagnostic Tool (RDT). The RDT software version 10.04.0011 or higher is required.

Revisions have been made to Ametek instrument cluster software that improve or addresses items noted below. Also, "Powertrain, Ford" has been added to the drop-down tab as a system type selection. "Powertrain Ford" system type is used to identify both Ford engine and transmission fault codes.

Blue Bird has determined that the CIT brand air conditioning relays should be replaced with Song Chuan brand relays (PN 00079077). Additionally, the wiring harness (PN 10023917) connected to the relay base should be inspected for any sign of damage and replaced, if necessary. Blue Bird will provide parts at no cost and will reimburse the repair time in accordance with the information presented below. Affected Units: This service bulletin includes: Certain model year 2015-2021 Vision School Buses manufactured from August 5, 2014 through September 11, 2019. Certain model year 2016-2021 All American School Buses manufactured from May 8, 2015 through September 8, 2019. Certain model year 2016-2021 Vision Non-school Buses manufactured November 20, 2014 through August 10, 2019. Overview: Blue Bird and HSM Quality/Engineering teams have determined that the NextGen seats shipped from September 19, 2017 to March 21, 2019 have exposed holes in the rear side of the seat back frame that can allow a passenger(s) to insert their finger into the holes and possibly get their finger stuck. The number of exposed holes varies with the seat size. Only those holes directly visible to the passenger require plugs. The rear row seats are excluded. HSM has developed a Voluntary Technical Service Bulletin (S19ZI) for the installation of the hole plugs. HSM will provide parts at no cost. No labor will be reimbursed for the installation of the plugs. Affected Units: This service bulletin includes 2018 through 2020 Blue Bird All American and Vision School Buses manufactured from September 19, 2017 through March 21, 2019. Additionally, this service bulletin includes 2019 through 2020 Blue Bird All American and Vision Non-school buses manufactured from June 29, 2018 through February 16, 2019. A separate printout will be provided listing all buses in your territory that are affected by this service bulletin. Service Bulletin S19ZI will be mailed to all owners on record. Be sure to review your list and advise of any incorrect owner names and/or addresses. Repair Parts: HSM will provide parts at no cost. Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
Service Memorandum (SM1903) includes basic troubleshooting steps for Cummins engines with "Aftertreatment Abnormal Update Rate Fault Codes". These codes indicate either a problem with the aftertreatment battery power/ground circuits, the proprietary data link circuits, or one of the components connected to the proprietary data link. Both Cummins and Blue Bird harnesses include the proprietary data link circuits, and power/ground circuits. Blue Bird harnesses include the aftertreatment powerground circuits, and the proprietary data link circuits on the OEM side of the 14-pin crossover connector that plugs to the Cummins engine harness. The Blue Bird supplied circuits go from the 14 pin OEM crossover connector to the SCR sensor table, DPF sensor table, and the DEF tank sensor. Proprietary data link circuits DO NOT go the the diagnostic port connector located inside the cab of the bus.

Overview: Certain 2017 through 2019 model year Blue Bird Vision School and Non-School bus units NOT equipped with an optional fuel door interlock switch, manufactured from June 11, 2016, through April 07, 2018, will require the unused "optional" fuel door connector C212 terminal contacts be cleaned and installation of a sealed mating connector to prevent any future corrosion. Affected Units: The buses in your fleet that are affected by this Service Bulletin S19ZD are identified by Blue Bird Body Serial Number(s) on the enclosed cover sheet. Service Bulletin S19ZD will be mailed to all owners on record. Be sure to review your list and advise of any incorrect owner names and/or addresses. On the subject buses, the possibility exists for an engine No Crank condition. To correct this, it is necessary to clean the connector terminal contacts and install a sealed mating connector. Parts should be ordered through Blue Bird Service Parts to install the sealed mating connector. Repair Parts: The Parts List outlined in the S19ZD Instructions details the parts required to perform Service Bulletin S19ZD and should be ordered through Blue Bird Service Parts. Parts are anticipated to be available on or before June 24th. Time Allowance: Time allowed to clean the connector terminal contacts and install a sealed mating connector is 0.2 (12 minutes).

Overview: The Dealer is to remove existing fuel fill bracket assemblies (10045957 RH and 10047365 LH) and install redesigned fuel fill bracket assemblies (10060359 RH and 10060371 LH) to eliminate potential cracking issues with the existing fuel fill bracket assemblies. Affected Units: Certain 2018-2019 model year Blue Bird Vision CNG School Buses manufactured from September 29, 2016 through March 1, 2018. A separate printout will be provided listing all buses in your territory that are affected by this service bulletin. Service Bulletin S19ZX will be mailed to all owners on record. Be sure to review your list and advise of any incorrect owner names and/or addresses. On the subject buses, the Dealer is to remove existing fuel fill bracket assemblies (10045957 RH and 10047365 LH) and install redesigned fuel fill bracket assemblies (10060359 RH and 10060371 LH) to eliminate potential cracking issues with the existing fuel fill bracket assemblies. For any engines built before July 1, 2017, an ECM Code change is required to prevent occurrence of engine fault code 3555 ?Engine Wait to Start Lamp - Abnormal Update Rate? after updating (ECM) calibration. Please reference Cummins Technical Service Bulletin ?TSB170081?. Blue Bird advises customers to contact their local Cummins repair facility to have these software updates completed.

Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain model year 2015-2018 Vision School Buses manufactured from February 19, 2014, through March 3, 2017. The chassis mounted battery box support bracket(s) on certain Vision buses may develop cracks or fracture and could allow the battery box to separate from the chassis and fall. The design of the existing battery box support brackets may not be adequate in certain applications. If both the battery box support brackets were to completely fail and detach from the bus, it could become a road hazard increasing the risk of a crash. Buses should be corrected immediately according to the instructions for Recall R17YY. Dealers should inspect for loose or missing fasteners and cracks at the bolt holes and the bend radius. Repair according to the matrix in the instructions. Repairs include removing braces on all units, adding reinforcements or replacing front and rear brackets on some units with new higher strength steel, based on the matrix in the instructions. Parts are expected to be available the end of April, initially in limited quantities, at no cost to you.
