Changing of the drive chain set is presently prescribed at 12,000 mi. in the maintenance schedule for BMW Service for the K02 and K03 models. A change at this stage may not be required. Thus the maintenance work "Changing the chain set" will be replaced by the maintenance work "Checking and lubricating the chain drive" as in the case of other models with chain drive.
