If an overfill condition exists the transmission fluid may become aerated and may cause high transmission temperatures, gear slippage, and erratic shifting. In addition, performing limit-handling maneuvers may produce a fluid overflow condition through the vent tube. Dealers will inspect, and if necessary correct, the automatic transmission fluid level.
