CANISTER Vapor -If an issue is detected with the Evaporative System Integrity Module (ESIM) Detector and not the Vapor Canister, only replace the ESIM Detector. -Before replacing the Vapor Canister due to Hard to Fill condition, replicate the condition at the Gas Station. If the condition is replicated, then check: 1) for kinked or pinched Clean Air Hose between the ESIM and the EVAP Air Filter; 2) for plugged EVAP Air Filter; 3) for kinked or pinched Vapor Hose between the Fuel Tank and the Vapor Canister. If the EVAP Filter is restricted, the replace the Filter. -Check if the Vapor Canister is flooded with fuel or the Recirculation Line has fuel. If fuel is found in the Vapor Canister or the Recirculation Line, then drop the Fuel Tank, remove the FDM Lock Ring to check if the internal Vapor Line is properly connected to the FDM Port. If the Vapor Line is not connected, then drain the fuel from the internal Vapor Line and properly connect to the FDM. Replace the Vapor Canister and the ESIM.

TUBE Fuel Supply When there is fuel leakage at the Quick Connect of the Fuel Supply Line to the Fuel Pump Module, disconnect the Line and visually inspect the Fuel Supply Line at the Seal O-Ring area for any damaged Seal or contamination and mating connection or Line leakage. If the Fuel Supply Line is found to be the source of the leakage, only replace the Fuel Supply Line.

FUEL PUMP/LEVEL UNIT MODULE For vehicles with Saddle Fuel Tanks, need to determine if there are any DTCs in wiTECH. Follow Service Diagnostics published prior to making any changes. Review any existing SOL or TSBs published for customer complaint issue. Only the Fuel Pump Module should be replaced if there are DTCs associated with the Fuel Level Sensor number 1. Only the Auxiliary Level Sender should be replaced if there are DTCs associated with the Fuel Level Sensor number 2. If there is a mixture of DTCs between the Fuel Pump Module and the Auxiliary Level Sensor, then investigate if there is a Jumper Harness or circuit issue between the Level Sender and the PCM. Verify fuel transfer between auxiliary tank and the primary tank by monitoring the auxiliary level sensor to verify it drops after driving.

TUBE Fuel Filler When there is fuel leakage at the joint of the Inlet Check Valve or the joint of the Fuel Filler Tube, place a mark on the Fuel Filler Tube of the insertion depth of the Filler Hose before removing the Hose. Check the Fuel Filler Hose for delamination or potential hole(s) or damage. Check the Inlet Check Valve (ICV) for any damage. If there is no damage found on the ICV and the Fuel Filler Hose is found to have delamination or damage, replace the Fuel Filler Hose and Clamps only. Do not replace the Fuel Filler Tube and/or the Fuel Tank. Install the new Fuel Filler Hose on the Tube to the marked location

D Clutch Repair Kit TSB 21-039-24 REV A - D-Clutch repair kit missing Carrier Output Shaft Seals It has been identified the Carrier Output Shaft is missing 2 seals for some of the kits delivered to dealers. These seals are not available individually. MOPAR is working to get the parts. Do not rebuild the transmission without these seals otherwise the vehicle will not have reverse. Please refer to STAR Online Publication S2421000001 for instructions for inspecting if the seals are present on the Output Shaft Carrier Shaft. If seals are missing, please return the D-Clutch Kit as defective and order another kit. Transmission replacement is not recommended as this issue should be solved with replacement kits

Inspect & check all electrical connections to the alternator a. 2-way connector containing field control circuit & alternator sense voltage circuit. b. Unplug & plug-in the 2-way connector for field & sense circuit. Verify the connection is tight & check for any bent pins in alternator connector or damage to female terminals in connector. c. Check Alternator B+ Stud connection to be sure nut is securing positive cable terminal properly (i.e. nut is clamping terminal & connection is tight). d. Check fuse between the alternator B+ stud & PDC terminal to make sure it is not blown. e. Check/verify all grounds in the charging system circuit a. Check tightness of mounting bolts securing alternator to engine block. Alternator is a case ground component. b. Check main ground from engine to chassis; connection must be tight. c. Check battery ground cable connections are tight. d. Potentially, loosen alternator mounting bolts, without removing alternator, and re-tighten to torque specifications in service manual. e. After all steps above are complete, re-start engine & check charging system operation. 3. Verify that the Smart Charging System is not the reason for alternator low voltage & current output (Amps). a. Alternator charging can be suspended during engine idle operation because of the Smart Charge strategy. b. Refer to service manual section "System Operation - Smart Charging System". c. Refer to Star Case S2008000031 Rev A for low charging voltage & Smart Charge Mode Voltage Range diagram & mode descriptions. d. The alternator has no internal regulator; thus, has no smart circuitry. All alternator control signals come from ECM. 4. If alternator is faulty, remove alternator & mounting bolts. Return alternator with bolts for analysis at QEC.
