Girard awning may retract on its own due to interference to the awning motion senor from the interior LED lights of the motorhome. Each awning (2 per motor home) requires in-line capacitor to prevent the interference. The awnings will NOT extend on their own from this interference. The Girard awning has a lock module that when ignition is turned on, all power is removed from the awning motors after 60 seconds to ensure that the awning can not deploy while the motorhome is in motion.
