For Various Ford and Lincoln vehicles, if diagnostics lead to the replacement of the front seat cushion cover J-clips, lower-level service parts are now available. Use service part W709919-S901 if the J-clip is completely detached from the seat cover and W715386-S424 if the clip is still partially attached. It is not necessary to replace the seat cover if only the J-clip is separating from the cover. Refer to PTS Home > Technical Assistance > Technical Support Videos > Section 501- Body and Paint > Seat J-Clips. Some 2021-2026 Bronco vehicles may require the removal and installation of the transfer case for various reasons. Installation requires Loctite® 243 adhesive applied to the mounting bolt threads in the transmission. Make sure that the mating faces are clean and dry. Tightening the mounting bolts also requires an updated two-stage tightening sequence. Workshop Manual (WSM), Sections 307-07C/D and 308-07C/D Installation > Transfer Case have been updated to reflect this change.

Some 2021-2026 Ford/Lincoln vehicles may exhibit various symptoms including but not limited to the auto start/stop system not operating as intended with a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while the charging system is operating properly with no charging related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored. This may be due to someone using an aftermarket programmer to change the body control module (BCM) configuration to disable the auto start/stop system or perform other unsupported programming modifications. To correct this condition on F-150 and Bronco vehicles, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application titled "BCM-Charging System Configuration Correction". Running this application will determine if the BCM configuration was modified by the customer and if so, provide the option to return the configuration back to factory settings. For other vehicle models exhibiting concerns related to unsupported aftermarket BCM programming, submit a Technical Support Request (TSR) requesting support to revert the BCM configuration

Some 2021-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an "Updating SYNC" message on the vehicle center display screen after an over the air (OTA) update. The message can be cleared from the center display screen and SYNC can be used normally, but it will re-appear at every subsequent ignition cycle. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a software update solution for this condition to be delivered OTA expected in late Q3 2026. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicles settings. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.

Some 2021-2026 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a "Park Brake Limited Function Service Required" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This may be due to an issue with the driver door harness connector after removing and installing the removeable doors. If diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1625:29 is stored in the driver door module (DDM), inspect connector C322C between the upper and lower door hinges that attaches to the body for proper installation and/or pin fitment. Repair as necessary. If the condition was caused by improper door installation, do not submit a claim for this condition. If no concerns are found with the connector, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-11 > Diagnosis and Testing for normal diagnostics.

Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a condition where short drop windows, window bounce-back, and/or one-touch close does not operate properly. This may be due to loss of window initialization. Replacement or reprogramming of the DDM, PDM, and/or any other components may not resolve these conditions.The short drop windows feature may be restored by performing a reset procedure as described in the Digital Owner's Manual > Windows > Using Short Drop Windows > Resetting Short Drop Windows. If the customer is experiencing an inability to fully close the window due to repeated bounce-back events, the window bounce-back feature may be overridden by performing an override procedure as described in the Digital Owner's Manual > Windows > Window Bounce-Back > Overriding Windows Bounce-Back. The one-touch feature may be restored by performing a reset procedure as described in the Digital Owner's Manual > Windows > Opening and Closing the Windows > Resetting One-Touch Close. These symptoms may return after a successful reset/override of the feature. Show the customer where they can find these procedures in the Digital Owner’s Manual so they can have the option to perform the procedures on their own should any of these symptoms return. Inform customers that engineering is aware of these conditions and working on a solution which is expected to be available by the end of Q4 2026. For 20202026 vehicles equipped with the 10R60 transmission, a new Transmission Clutch Circuit Leak Test has been introduced in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). This test utilizes the pressure and vacuum transducer (PVT) when available. Workshop Manual (WSM) updates related to this diagnostic procedure are planned for release in Q4 2026. The new test improves the accuracy of detecting leaks within transmission fluid circuits and replaces the previous air check method. The previous air check procedure has been shown to produce a high rate of false positives, which may lead to unnecessary repairs when no actual leak is present. Accordingly, the air check procedure is not to be used for diagnosing internal transmission hydraulic leaks or as justification for transmission replacement.

The Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-04 Fuel Charging and Controls - Turbocharger - 2.0L/2.3L EcoBoost > Removal and Installation > Wastegate Control Actuator Linkage service procedure been added. In addition, the wastegate actuator rod (9E408), associated retention springs (9342) and retaining clips (00817) have been released as lower-level components to complete the repair without replacing the entire turbocharger wastegate actuator assembly.

Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles equipped with a manual transmission may experience a rotational scraping noise while the transmission is in neutral, 1st and/or 2nd gear with the clutch pedal released. The noise may be more noticeable in ambient temps below 10°C (50°F) and after a cold soak. This noise may also diminish as the transmission warms up. This may be due to the 5th and 6th gear synchronizer rings. The 5th and 6th gear synchronizer rings are now only available in the 6th/5th gear synchronizer assembly (service part number MU7Z-7124-Q). To correct the condition, replace the 6th/5th gear synchronizer. Remove the transmission from the vehicle. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 308-03 > Removal. Disassemble the transmission. Refer to WSM, Section 308-03 > Disassembly. Disassemble the input shaft to gain access to the 6th/5th gear synchronizer. Refer to WSM, Section 308-03 > Disassembly and Assembly of Subassemblies > Input Shaft. Replace the 6th/5th gear synchronizer and assemble the input shaft. Assemble the transmission. Refer to WSM, Section 308-03 > Assembly. Install the transmission.

Various 2020-2026 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system (BLIS) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module (DDM), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module (PDM). This may be due to the wiring connector from the mirror to the BLIS module. If diagnostics lead to an internal mirror wiring harness fault, a new lower level BLIS light pigtail is now released for service. It is not necessary to replace the exterior mirror assembly. This may be due to a loose fuse terminal for the low voltage high current fuse (3A). If this condition is present, compare fuse removal effort between the low voltage high current fuse and like fuses in the battery junction box (BCMC). If removal effort for the fuse is low, replace the low voltage high current fuse panel assembly to correct this condition. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 414-01 > Removal and Installation > Low Voltage High Current Fuse. For claiming, use causal part 14526 and labor time MT14526SSM with a limit of 0.5 hours.

Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with wired keyless entry keypad systems and accessory wireless keyless entry keypad systems may or may not come with a wallet card containing the master code. Unlike the integrated wired keypad, the accessory wireless keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool or from the label printed on the body control module (BCM). The Factory Keyless Entry Code application within the diagnostic scan tool will not provide an applicable master code for the accessory wireless keypad. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is not available, the "Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide" can be referenced and provides direction on how to retrieve the master code. During diagnosis and testing, details regarding whether the condition is more prevalent when the vehicle is hot or cold, throttle percentage at the time of occurrence, vehicle speed, the specific shift involved, and whether the issue occurs during transmission engagements (N>R, N>D, R>D, or D>R) should be noted. Engineering requests including these detailed operating conditions that will significantly assist with root cause analysis. Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a rattle from the front windows with the windows placed in the partially down position and driving over rough roads and/or bumps. This may be due to the interface between the window glass and the body mounted glass run. To correct this condition, replace the body mounted glass runs using the body mounted glass run kit (3 door: M2DZ-9821597-E, and 5 door: M2DZ-7821597-F) which contains updated seals for improved sealing performance. For claiming, use causal part 9821597/7821597 and labor operations 23943A and 23943A19 in Section 12 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Some 2021-2025 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a water leak from the A-pillar, overhead console/upfitter switches and/or sun visors. If a leak is identified from this area, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-18 Pinpoint Test (PPT) G for water leak diagnosis. If the PPT leads to the replacement of the header seal, a revised header seal has been released for service (M2DZ-7803110-H) which contains a thicker consistent bead of butyl across the entire length of the seal. The header seal will need to be firmly depressed and massaged to make sure all of the butyl that is across the entire header seal will properly adhere to the body, creating a water-tight seal. For claiming, use causal part 7803110 and labor operation 03110A in Section 12 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Some 2021-2025 Ford/ Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may not be able to perform an update to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM). This may be due to the software in the APIM. Ford Engineering has de-activated the ability to update these SYNC4 APIM modules as applicable, and the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will not present an update for the APIM module. Some existing directed repairs may be impacted, check Professional Technician System (PTS) before attempting any specific technical service bulletin (TSB)/special service message (SSM) and check field service action (FSA) landing pages before attempting any FSA repairs. For any vehicle repairs requiring a software update that includes an APIM update in the programming sequence, if the 5-digit product code for the APIM software is equal to or lower than 23187, do not attempt to update affected modules at this time. To determine the 5-digit product code for the APIM software on the vehicle, while the vehicle center display screen is powered up with ignition in run or accessory, go to Settings > General > About SYNC.

Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles built on or before 01-Jan-2025 equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine and 10R60 automatic transmission may exhibit diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, and P0304 and may be accompanied by a buck/jerk sensation while driving between 35-55 mph (56-89 km/h) in gears 7-10. If the condition remains after normal engine misfire diagnostics and associated repairs have been performed, the condition may be related to driveline torsional vibration induced by the rear wheels and/or rear axle assembly. The driveline torsional harmonics/vibrations are incorrectly identified by the misfire monitor as an engine misfire. Perform standard road force wheel balancing of all four tire and wheel assemblies and retest. If the condition continues to occur, replace the ring and pinion gearset in the rear axle. For claiming, use causal part 4209 and applicable labor operations found in Section 04 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

This may require the technician to update certain modules multiple times during the service visit, before the latest APIM software is accessible in FDRS. If symptoms continue after latest APIM software has been installed, inform customers that Ford is working on additional software enhancements which are expected to be delivered over-the-air (OTA) by Q4 2024 on F-150, F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, Mustang, Escape, Corsair, Expedition, Navigator, Bronco, Mustang, and 2023-2024 F-Super Duty. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. If the vehicles DDM and PDM had software part numbers ending with CN or CR when it arrived, advise the customer that the vehicle will no longer exhibit a short drop event to all door windows anytime the vehicle is unlocked using the remote keyless entry (RKE), accessory keyless entry keypad, or the interior door unlock switch.

When performingdiagnostics and repairs on SYNC Gen 3 or later, select the diagnostics tab and search for related symptoms,DTCs and keywords. The search results will be shown in the search results pane. Read and follow allTechnical Service Bulletins (TSB), Special Service Message (SSM)s or General Service Bulletin (GSB) first if abulletin specifically addresses the vehicle concern. If there are no messages, run the appropriate diagnosticpinpoint test found in the Workshop Manual (WSM). Follow the steps in the pinpoint test. Make sure to note thetitle of the guided routine, using the correct one for the vehicle's symptom or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) iscritical. Depending on the outcome of the pinpoint test, a repair validation code (RVC) may be generated eitherin the pinpoint test or Guided Routine. If the vehicle concern still exists after following the pinpoint tests orguided routine, then a manual RVC can be generated using the RVC Assist Form. A manual RVC can only begenerated once the above process has been followed.

2021-2023 Bronco vehicles built on or before 9-Jul-2023 may have new version software in their driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM) that contains noticeable enhancements to the window short drop operation. This software level can be identified in the DDM and PDM as Software Part Number MU5T-14C064-CR or later. This software was released via a software update delivered over-the-air (OTA) starting in September 2023 if the vehicle's connectivity was enabled in the vehicle settings. Vehicles with this new software will exhibit a short drop event to all door windows anytime the vehicle is unlocked using the remote keyless entry (RKE), accessory keyless entry keypad, or the interior door unlock switch. The short drop function will return to the UP position when a lock input is received from these same inputs. For vehicles equipped with passive entry, a short drop event will not activate when a door is unlocked by placing a hand on an exterior door handle. 2023-2024 Bronco vehicles built on and after 10-Jul-2023 received this software from the factory.

This may be due to the gateway module (GWM) software. When the pop-up message appears for Change Vehicle Mode - Transport/Factory/Normal Mode, press OK. This will proceed to the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation screen, select Unlock Vehicle Connectivity Settings (21 MY + Vehicles). A pop-up message appears noting Vehicle Is Now In Normal Mode, select OK. This will return to the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation screen, select Exit. A final pop-up notification stating that the application is finished, select OK. For claiming, use causal part 14G490 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

This may be due to incorrect cylinder to DTC mapping within the PCM. This means the DTCs listed may set against the incorrect cylinder. Even though the cylinder to DTC mapping is incorrect in the PCM, the presence of these DTCs means that a real ignition system concern is present that requires diagnosis and repair. Prior to performing a pinpoint test for one of the listed DTCs, it will be necessary to identify the correct cylinder that has the issue. Do this by using the Ford diagnosis and repair system (FDRS) to perform a cylinder power balance test. If the results show two cylinders dropping out, begin diagnosing the ignition system components for the cylinder that is dropping out and not setting an ignition related DTC. If concern still exists, proceed with BCMC replacement.

For 2015-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.

This non-operational amplifier (service part number N2DZ-18C804-B) will not produce sound (by design) from the rear subwoofer. The non-operational rear amplifier and subwoofer assembly will appear identical to a working system. Customers have been notified and compensated appropriately for this change to the vehicle. This strategy periodically purges the cabin air every 30-60 minutes depending on conditions the vehicle is operated in. If monitoring the Air Inlet Door PID with FDRS, it can go to approximately 50 % movement of the Air Inlet Door while in recirculation mode. During this climate control system strategy operation the recirculation button light should not go off. This is normal operation of the climate control system and no repairs should be attempted. If the recirculation button/light goes off then reference Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-00.

This may be due to a fault detected while in transport mode or a leak in the positive crankcase ventilation system. To correct the condition, deactivate transport mode, refer to WSM, Section 419-10. Perform a visual inspection of possible sources outlined in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-08B pinpoint test (PPT) HG. Clear all DTCs, allow the vehicle to sit until engine coolant temperature is below 45°C (113°F). Start the vehicle and allow it to idle in park (P) for 1 minute. Using the appropriate scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P04DB returns, perform PPT HG in the WSM. WSM, Section 303-14B contains removal and installation instruction for the crankcase pressure sensor.

This may be due to a stuck internal component of the variable cam timing (VCT) unit. To correct the condition, replace all 4 of the VCT units following Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-01. For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. This may be identified as coming from the bellhousing and the front of the transmission fluid pan. The whine noise may become louder when the transmission is at operating temperature and may increase with engine revolutions per minute (RPM) in the park (P) position. A small amount of whine noise is considered to be characteristic of the 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT/10R100 transmissions due to the offset gear drivetrain in the front support and has no effect on durability.

Customers who neutral (4-wheel flat) tow a 2021-2022 Bronco equipped with a 2.7L engine or a 2022-2023 Bronco Raptor may report an inconsistent brake assist when a supplemental braking system has been installed. This may result from supplemental brake system set-up that does not account for the vehicles anti-lock brake (ABS) module entering sleep mode after a pre-determined period of time following vehicle shut-down. This functionality was necessary to prevent a battery drain from occurring. Enhanced software has been developed to keep the ABS module in a consistent sleep state when the vehicle enters neutral tow mode. For vehicles that meet this criterion, reprogram the ABS module using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming, use casual part 2C219.

The vehicle is programmed with protection features to prevent damage to the wiper motor in case of overheating, operation with dry windshields, or obstructions to the wiper blade (snow, ice, etc.). In such conditions, the wiper motor will temporarily reduce its speed and/or reduce area of cleaning until the condition is no longer present.

2021-2022 F-150 vehicles with 2.7L, 3.3L, 3.5L EcoBoost or 5.0L engines, 2020-2022 Transit vehicles with 3.5L Duratec/3.5L EcoBoost engines, 2023 Bronco with the 2.3L engine having charging system diagnostics performed in the Workshop Manual (WSM) may experience the generator voltage desired (GENVDSD) parameter identification (PID) missing from the powertrain control module (PCM) PID list in the Ford Diagnosis And Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. This may be due to a software parameter in the PCM. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM.

Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles equipped with a soft top roof may experience a strut that has detached from the soft top frame. It is not possible to reinstall one of these struts once they become detached from the frame. If this occurs, a service strut must be ordered which will arrive with a compression bracket which maintains the exact strut length required for installation. For installation instructions, refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 501-18A. The larger, rear struts are available by ordering (service part number: M2DZ-78515A60-B). The smaller, front struts are available by ordering (service part number: M2DZ-78515A59-B). Each part number contains 1 strut.

Some Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit noises coming from the brake pedal while applying and/or releasing the brake pedal or while the vehicle is off without brake pedal application. A single click and/or clunk may be heard during brake pedal application and again on brake pedal release and is considered normal. Clicking may also be heard while the vehicle is off, and without the brake pedal being applied. The clicking heard with the vehicle off is due to the EBB going through the normal shut-down process. The amount of noise will vary between EBB modules and replacement of the EBB module is not expected to reduce the noises.
