Service bulletins

88 bulletins

Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 25-Jun-2023, 2022-2025 E-Transit and 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may experience a high voltage battery stop charging condition when using a direct current (DC) fast charger level 3 with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0EEE:27 and P2E53:27 stored in the on-board diagnostic control module A (SOBDM). This may be due to the SOBDM software. Replacement of the charge port will not resolve this concern. Inform customers that their vehicles can still be charged using a level 1 or level 2 alternating current (AC) charger. Engineering is currently working on a software solution expected in Q3 2026. Schedule an appointment with the customer when the repair becomes available. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.

SSM 55032

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

Some 2022-2026 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit a reduced distance to empty (DTE) projection, a high voltage battery pack state of charge (SOC) that drops from 100% to less than 90% within 60 seconds of being driven, and an inability to reach a target SOC using the scheduled charging feature without any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the battery energy control module (BECM). This may be due to an issue in one or more cells within the high voltage battery pack. To correct the condition, run the "BECM Battery Health" application using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). If any cells are identified as exceeding state of charge and/or capacity thresholds, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-03A High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables > Diagnosis and Testing > High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables - Electric > Pinpoint Test AP > Step AP4 and continue diagnosis. If all cells are within state of charge and capacity thresholds or DTCs are present in the BECM, refer to the WSM for normal diagnosis. For claiming, use causal part 10D672 and labor op

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

Some 2022-2023 F-150 PowerBoost vehicles may exhibit a condition where the Midtronics DCA8000P battery tester is unable to test the auxiliary battery. Engineering is aware of this condition and updated software will be loaded in the DCA8000P battery tester in September of 2023 allowing the tester to test the auxiliary battery and generate a battery approval code and diagnostic trouble code (DTC). Follow Workshop Manual (WSM) section 414-01 Battery Diagnosis and Testing to verify battery condition. If the auxiliary battery needs to be replaced a repair validation code (RVC) is not required at this time and should be replaced following the Warranty and Policy Manual standard claiming procedures. Monitor OASIS for additional updates.

Some 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit This Trip mileage not resetting after a key cycle. This may be due to the software in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in May 2023. Replacement or reprogramming of the IPC will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

Some 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U3012, P062F, and/or P0A7F in the battery energy control module (BECM) and/or P0887 in the secondary on-board diagnostic control module-B (SOBDMB) or secondary on-board control module-C (SOBDMC). This may be due to a loose 12 volt positive or negative battery cable connection or loose ground connection. Prior to performing Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics, inspect both ends of the positive and negative battery cable connections and tighten if loose. Inspect connector C1168B and ground G127 for loose connections and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Refer to the Wiring Diagram for connector and ground locations. Perform the High Voltage Battery Capacity Relearn application using Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) to clear P0A7F.
