Some 2025-2026 Aviator/Explorer/Expedition/F-150/Mustang Mach-E/Nautilus/Navigator vehicles may exhibit the hands-free BlueCruise feature intermittently/consistently unavailable when BlueCruise is active and when traveling in a "Blue Zone". Speed sign recognition may also be inaccurate. If there are no active relevant diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) present and the issue persists after multiple key cycles and if the BlueCruise System Health Check passes, download and run the "TCU - Reset Telematics Control Unit (TCU) Module" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). If the condition is resolved, inform customers that this may be a temporary fix and engineering is currently working on a solution expected in Q4 2026. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. Some of the following vehicles: * 2023-2025 F-Super Duty built on or before 02-Feb-2025 * 2024-2026 Ranger/Bronco/Mustang * 2024-2025 F-150 built on or before 15-Jul-2025 * 2024-2025 Nautilus built on or before 16-Feb-2025 * 2025 Explorer/Aviator built on or before 01-Feb-2025 may exhibit all of the following symptoms: - "No Key Detected" message displayed on the instrument panel cluster (IPC). - Key fob does not work in the backup slot. - Remote keyless entry (RKE) (lock and unlock from the key fob) functionality will work to lock/unlock the vehicle. If the vehicle exhibits these symptoms, start the vehicle using both key fobs. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" concern is present, reprogram both key fobs and retest. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" is still present, replace the body control module (BCM). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-10. SSM 55100
For Various Ford and Lincoln vehicles, if diagnostics lead to the replacement of the front seat cushion cover J-clips, lower-level service parts are now available. Use service part W709919-S901 if the J-clip is completely detached from the seat cover and W715386-S424 if the clip is still partially attached. It is not necessary to replace the seat cover if only the J-clip is separating from the cover. Refer to PTS Home > Technical Assistance > Technical Support Videos > Section 501- Body and Paint > Seat J-Clips. SSM 55111
Some 2022-2026 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit a reduced distance to empty (DTE) projection, a high voltage battery pack state of charge (SOC) that drops from 100% to less than 90% within 60 seconds of being driven, and an inability to reach a target SOC using the scheduled charging feature without any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the battery energy control module (BECM). This may be due to an issue in one or more cells within the high voltage battery pack. To correct the condition, run the "BECM Battery Health" application using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). If any cells are identified as exceeding state of charge and/or capacity thresholds, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-03A High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables > Diagnosis and Testing > High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables Electric. Perform Pinpoint Test High Voltage Battery Pack Cell Balancing Faults, Step 4 (PPT Step AO4 for 2022-2024 vehicles/PPT Step AQ4 for 2024-2026 vehicles) and proceed with Pinpoint Test directions following the results of Step 4.

Some 2021-2026 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a concern of the windshield wipers not parking in the correct position on the windshield and/or over-traveling. This may be due to incorrect alignment of the wiper pivot arm on the wiper linkage assembly. Wiper pivot arms may or may not be equipped with an alignment key. Alignment keys are a manufacturing aid and are not needed for proper alignment and operation. In some instances, it may be necessary to remove this alignment key to achieve proper alignment. Replacement of the wiper pivot arm, due to a missing alignment key is a not warrantable. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-16.

SSM 55031
Some 2021-2026 Ford/Lincoln vehicles may exhibit various symptoms including but not limited to the auto start/stop system not operating as intended with a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while the charging system is operating properly with no charging related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored. This may be due to someone using an aftermarket programmer to change the body control module (BCM) configuration to disable the auto start/stop system or perform other unsupported programming modifications. To correct this condition on F-150 and Bronco vehicles, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application titled "BCM-Charging System Configuration Correction". Running this application will determine if the BCM configuration was modified by the customer and if so, provide the option to return the configuration back to factory settings. For other vehicle models exhibiting concerns related to unsupported aftermarket BCM programming, submit a Technical Support Request (TSR) requesting support to revert the BCM configuration

Some 2021-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an "Updating SYNC" message on the vehicle center display screen after an over the air (OTA) update. The message can be cleared from the center display screen and SYNC can be used normally, but it will re-appear at every subsequent ignition cycle. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a software update solution for this condition to be delivered OTA expected in late Q3 2026. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicles settings. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.
SSM 55008
Some 2021-2026 Ford vehicles may exhibit inoperative heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel and/or front/rear defrost features after a remote start is performed through the Ford mobile application or with the key fob. Customers may also experience heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel and/or front/rear defrost features turning on in unexpected conditions such as during warmer weather. These features will operate normally when commanded in the center display screen. This may be due to the customer not setting up their "Climate Settings" through the Ford mobile application. To correct this condition, inform the customer they should perform a remote start from the Ford mobile application and then adjust the "Climate Settings" in the Ford mobile application as desired. These settings only need to be set once and will persist through subsequent remote starts. This may be due to the vehicle having a Ford accessory trailer brake kit installed without being programmed following the included instructions. If the vehicle was built with minor feature code FDDAA and a trailer brake gain switch is present in the stock location in the instrument panel, a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit has been installed on the vehicle. If a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit is present, download and run the "TRM - Towbar Configuration" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS).

Monitor the BCM alarm event parameter identifications (PID). For 20212026 vehicles equipped with the 10R80 transmission, a new Transmission Clutch Circuit Leak Test has been introduced in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). This test utilizes the pressure and vacuum transducer (PVT) when available. When referred to a specific clutch (A-F) test by a pinpoint test in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01 > Diagnosis and Testing, the Clutch Assembly tests have been updated with a hyperlink to the new Transmission Line Pressure Test - Pressure Vacuum Transducer (PVT) Is Available procedure in WSM, Section 307-01 > General Procedures. This procedure provides instructions to perform the FDRS Transmission Clutch Circuit Leak Test when applicable. The new test improves the accuracy of detecting leaks within transmission fluid circuits and replaces the previous air check method. The previous air check procedure has been shown to produce a high rate of false positives, which may lead to unnecessary repairs when no actual leak is present. Various 2020-2026 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system (BLIS) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module (DDM), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module (PDM). This may be due to the wiring connector from the mirror to the BLIS module. If diagnostics lead to an internal mirror wiring harness fault, a new lower level BLIS light pigtail is now released for service. It is not necessary to replace the exterior mirror assembly. Use part number SC3Z-14A411-B to resolve the concern.

To isolate the wireless interference as a possible cause, turn off the wireless projection application in SYNC Connectivity settings in the vehicle's center touch screen and connect the phone through universal serial bus (USB) cable. If the call quality issue through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is addressed, this confirms that wireless projection was the cause. Engineering is aware of this condition and working on a software solution expected at the end of Q4 2026. As a temporary solution, customers can connect their phones with a USB cable. Reprogramming or replacement of any modules will not correct the condition. Use the "Submit Global Concern Report (GCR)" link at the upper right of the OASIS report to submit a vehicle concern report if the wireless projection is found to be the cause of the condition.

If diagnostics lead to an internal mirror wiring harness fault, a new lower level BLIS light pigtail is now released for service. It is not necessary to replace the exterior mirror assembly. Some 2024-2025 Mustang Mach-E/F-150/F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with 360 degree camera may exhibit a distorted or blurry 360 degree camera image in the center display screen but the rear view camera image is operating correctly. To restore the 360 degree camera image, download and run the "IPMA - Reset the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Calibration Data" application using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. Then download and run the "IPMA - 360 Degree View Camera Alignment" application. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a software solution for this condition that is expected by the end of 2025. Replacement or reprogramming of the IPMA will not resolve this condition. This may be due to an internal fuel leak of the fuel injection pump causing fuel to enter the crankcase and reduce fuel pressure in the high pressure fuel rail. Diagnose this condition using Pinpoint Test HP located in the Workshop Manual, Section 303-04A. If no DTCs are stored in the PCM, proceed from Step HP1 to Step HP5 and continue testing. When reinstalling the starter motor, make sure the starter is flush with the engine to transmission spacer plate prior to tightening the studbolts. This may be due to the software level of the body control module (BCM). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the BCM using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool.

Some 2021-2024 F-150/Bronco and 2023-2024 Escape/F-Super Duty vehicles built with SYNC 4 require a connected phone with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay active to enable voice interactions and use of the steering wheel voice control button. This is due to the affected vehicles not having built in voice interactions capability. Vehicles with built in voice interaction capability can be identified as also being equipped with the built in connected navigation feature which includes a navigation tab on the center display screen. Diagnostics should only be performed for voice interactions on vehicles equipped with built in voice interaction capability or with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay active.

Some 2021-2024 F-150 and 2023-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a rattle/scraping noise from the bellhousing area on start-up. This may be due to the torque converter studs contacting the engine-to-transmission spacer plate (separator plate). To correct this condition, remove the transmission and flexplate and inspect the engine-to-transmission spacer plate and torque converter studs for wear/damage. If wear/damage is found, replace the engine-to-transmission spacer plate. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 303-01 Engine - 3.5L EcoBoost (BM), Removal and Installation, Crankshaft Rear Seal. When reinstalling the starter motor, make sure the starter is flush with the engine-to-transmission spacer plate prior to tightening the studbolts. Failure to do so may result in damaging the newly installed engine-to-transmission spacer plate.

Some vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may exhibit one or more of the following symptoms after all currently available accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software updates have been performed. - General system performance, stability, and intermittent system reboots. - Intermittent Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto function. - Phone related concerns with intermittent No Audio or Static. - Navigation/global positioning system (GPS) related concerns through CarPlay and Android Auto. - Alexa function consistency and stability. These symptoms may be due to the software in the APIM. Replacing the APIM will not resolve these symptoms for the customer. Before returning the vehicle to the customer, review the procedures within Workshop Manual, Section 415-00 and ensure the latest APIM software is installed. Refer to General Service Bulletin (GSB) 23-7146 for help determining the latest available level of software. IMPORTANT: some module software updates will only display as available on Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) after prerequisite modules are updated. This may require the technician to update certain modules multiple times during the service visit, before the latest APIM software is accessible in FDRS. If symptoms continue after latest APIM software has been installed, inform customers that Ford is working on additional software enhancements which are expected to be delivered over-the-air (OTA) by Q4 2024 on F-150, F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, Mustang, Escape, Corsair, Expedition, Navigator, Bronco, Mustang, and 2023-2024 F-Super Duty. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. Changing the ignition key state to ON will result in a visible emergency tow pop-up message in the IPC. This may be due to the IPC software. Replacement or reprogramming of the IPC will not resolve this condition. Some 2021-2024 F-150-3.5L FHEV, 2020-2024 Explorer 3.3L FHEV, 2020-2024 Escape 2.5L FHEV, and 2022-2024 Maverick 2.5L FHEV vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P237F and/or P2C23 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and no affect on drivability. This may be due to seal damage, corrosion and/or water intrusion in the exhaust coolant temperature (ECT) sensors 3 and/or 4 connector. Visual inspection should be completed on ECT3 and ECT4 sensors and mating connections for seal damage, water intrusion, and corrosion. If seal damage, water intrusion or corrosion is present, repair per cell 5 of the Wiring Diagram, then apply Motorcraft® XG-12 Electrical Grease to the female/vehicle side of the harness. This inspection of ECT3 and ECT4 sensors should be completed prior to starting the appropriate pinpoint test in Section 303-03 of the Workshop Manual (WSM). If DTCs P237F and/or P2C23 do not return, no further action is necessary and the replacement of the entire exhaust heat exchanger assembly is not required. If P237F and/or P2C23 returns, follow the pinpoint test in Section 303-03 of the WSM for further diagnostics.

Some 2024 F-150 vehicles equipped with a gasoline, hybrid or flex fuel engine (non-Lightning) may exhibit inoperative A/C, lack of air flow and/or evidence of the evaporator freezing. This may be due to the software level of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) module. Reprogram the HVAC module using the latest software level of the FDRS diagnostic scan tool. Follow all on-screen instructions carefully to complete all coordinated module software updates. Diagnosis should include checking for an intermittent or partial disconnect of the harness to the fuel pump control module (FPCM) connector, connector pin push-outs, damaged pins/terminals, or loose/corroded grounds. Confirm FPCM connector (Explorer - C3239, Transit - C433, F-150 - C460/C4336, Expedition/Navigator - C433/C4033) is fully seated and inspect applicable grounds (Explorer G302, Transit - G401, F-150 - G401, Expedition/Navigator - G403/G406) prior to performing guided diagnostics or replacing any components.

All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.

Trailer brake controller kit ML3Z-19H332-AB does not include the correct TRM for 2024 F-150 vehicles, and this kit should not be installed on 2024 F-150 vehicles.

Some 2020-2024 F-150 and 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a ticking/tapping or rattle type noise from the top front cover area of the engine on initial start-up after a cold soak of 6 hours or more that may last for 2-5 seconds. This may be due to a stuck internal component of the variable cam timing (VCT) unit. To correct the condition, replace all 4 of the VCT units following Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-01. For claiming, use causal part 6C525 and applicable labor operations in Section 6 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. If labor times are not available, claim M-time.

Various vehicles have had pinpoint tests, guided routines and the Warranty and Policy Manual recentlyupdated for diagnostics and repairs on SYNC generation 3 and later applications. When performingdiagnostics and repairs on SYNC Gen 3 or later, select the diagnostics tab and search for related symptoms,DTCs and keywords. The search results will be shown in the search results pane. Read and follow allTechnical Service Bulletins (TSB), Special Service Message (SSM)s or General Service Bulletin (GSB) first if abulletin specifically addresses the vehicle concern. If there are no messages, run the appropriate diagnosticpinpoint test found in the Workshop Manual (WSM). Follow the steps in the pinpoint test. Make sure to note thetitle of the guided routine, using the correct one for the vehicle's symptom or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) iscritical. Depending on the outcome of the pinpoint test, a repair validation code (RVC) may be generated eitherin the pinpoint test or Guided Routine. If the vehicle concern still exists after following the pinpoint tests orguided routine, then a manual RVC can be generated using the RVC Assist Form. A manual RVC can only begenerated once the above process has been followed.

Some 2024 F-150 vehicles may exhibit inoperative exterior mirror glass adjustment with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B1C09:11 and B1C10:11 in the driver's door module (DDM) or B1C11:11 and B1C12:11 in the passenger's door module (PDM). This may be due to module software logic responding to repetitive mirror switch input toggled up/down or left/right too quickly. As an interim action, DDM/PDM functionality will resume after a sleep/wake cycle of approximately 15 minutes with the doors locked and the key in the OFF position. Inoperative outside mirror glass adjustment with DTCs B1C09:11 and B1C10:11 in the DDM or B1C11:11 and B1C12:11 in the PDM does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and a solution for this condition is expected in Q3 2024. Replacement or reprogramming of the DDM/PDM will not resolve this condition. To correct the concern, download and run the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation app: under HS1 modules select BCM > Transport and Factory Mode > Download > Run. When the pop-up message appears for Change Vehicle Mode - Transport/Factory/Normal Mode, press OK. This will proceed to the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation screen, select Unlock Vehicle Connectivity Settings (21 MY + Vehicles). A pop-up message appears noting Vehicle Is Now In Normal Mode, select OK. This will return to the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation screen, select Exit. A final pop-up notification stating that the application is finished, select OK. For claiming, use causal part 14G490 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

For 2015-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.

Some 2021-2024 Bronco/F-150, 2023-2024 Escape/F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may experience a concern during accessory protocol interface module (APIM) programming where the vehicle's center display screen indicates USB Error. This may be due to a lack of memory space available to perform the APIM software update. If it is a memory concern, the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will provide an option to delete the voice application. Re-enter the module programming and when prompted, do not select first option - SYNC Module (APIM) Software Update, select the second option - Delete Voice Application(s) From Module. Once deleted, run the SYNC Module (APIM) Software Update as directed, this will update the software and automatically reload the voice app. If the voice delete option is not available, continue with normal diagnostics in the Workshop Manual, Section 418.

Some 2024 F-150 vehicles may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0534:00 in the powertrain control module (PCM) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. This may be due to the PCM responding to large changes in ambient temperatures from warm to below freezing when the vehicle has less than 62 miles (100 km) and still in a rapid learn mode for the ambient air temperature logic. The rapid update to the temperature can result in the vehicle setting this DTC. DTC P0534:00 does not affect vehicle drivability and has no effect on vehicle operation. No additional diagnostics or service is required for this condition at this time. DTC P0534:00 is a background diagnostic code for service only and does not illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), powertrain malfunction indicator (wrench), or provide any indication to the vehicle operator. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in Q2 2024. Clients are now able to retrieve the vehicle's keyless entry keypad master access code in vehicle by following the instructions in the master access code card (available only on F-150) or in the Owners Manual > Keyless Entry Keypad Master Access Code. This process requires the use of two programmed intelligent access keys.

During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.

Some 2024 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost may set incorrect cylinder misfire DTCs while the CSER monitor is active. The CSER monitor runs for approximately 3 minutes after a cold soak start-up. If a misfire occurs while the CSER monitor is running, the powertrain control module (PCM) software strategy may set an incorrect cylinder misfire code. Prior to a repair attempt, allow the vehicle to run for at least 3 minutes and verify any individual cylinder misfire codes by performing a Power Balance Test using the Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. Some 2021-2024 Mustang Mach-E, 2022-2024 E-Transit/F-150 Lightning vehicles may have diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1A3C stored in the off-board charger controller module (OBCC). The P1A3C is commonly set due to an interruption of the direct current (DC) fast charging process and should be disregarded. All other DTCs stored in the OBCC are to be addressed using applicable publications and/or normal diagnostics found in Workshop Manual, Section 414-03B.

Some 2024 F-150 Lightning vehicles placed in emergency tow state may exhibit a missing pop-up message from the instrument panel cluster (IPC) during early vehicle re-entry with the key in the OFF position. If the vehicle has not fully entered sleep mode or locked, entry through any door within 10-30 minutes may not induce pop-up message visibility when the key is still in the OFF position. Changing the ignition key state to ON will result in a visible emergency tow pop-up message in the IPC. This may be due to the IPC software. A gateway module A (GWM) software concern may be triggering the no start condition. This does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Some 2024 F-150 Lightning vehicles may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U0594:68 in the heat pump valve control module (HPVCM) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. This may be due to HPVCM sensitivity while in accessory mode. DTC U0594:68 has no effect on functionality and will automatically become a historical DTC which can be cleared. Replacement or reprogramming of the HPVCM will not resolve this condition. DTC U0594:68 should be ignored if no other DTCs are present in the HPVCM, no warning indicators are illuminated while the vehicle is on, and no symptoms present. No further service action is required.
