Some 2023-2024 F-Super Duty/F-53 Motorhome/F-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis or 2023-2025 E-Series/F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a gas engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with ignition system DTC(s) P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, P0357, P2303, P2306, P2309, P2312, P2318, P2304, P2307, P2310, P2313, P2319, and/or P2322 set in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to incorrect cylinder to DTC mapping within the PCM. This means the DTCs listed may set against the incorrect cylinder. Even though the cylinder to DTC mapping is incorrect in the PCM, the presence of these DTCs means that a real ignition system concern is present that requires diagnosis and repair. Prior to performing a pinpoint test for one of the listed DTCs, it will be necessary to identify the correct cylinder that has the issue. Do this by using the Ford diagnosis and repair system (FDRS) to perform a cylinder power balance test. If the results show two cylinders dropping out, begin diagnosing the ignition system components for the cylinder that is dropping out and not setting an ignition related DTC. Due to the incorrect incorrectcylinder to DTC mapping, the PCM will shut off fuel to the cylinder that the PCM has triggered a DTC against. Diagnosing the cylinder that does not set an ignition DTCand drops during the power balance test, will verify the identity of the cylinder that has the concern. If only onecylinder is dropping out, start diagnostics with that cylinder. Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 303-07A/C.

Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a wireless charging pad may exhibit an excessive buzzing noise from the WACM cooling fan. This may be due to the wiring harness or electrical tape contacting the cooling fan. Remove the WACM and inspect for contact between the wiring harness and the WACM cooling fan. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 414-06. If contact is found, reroute the wiring harness away from the WACM cooling fan to eliminate the noise. Use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of OASIS to submit a report with photos attached (if possible) if contact is found between the wiring harness and the fan.

Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 12.3 inch IPC display may experience a blank IPC screen. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B108E may also be present. This may be due to a faulted graphics interface processor (GIP) in the IPC module. If a vehicle exhibits this condition, use the Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS) to determine if the GIP is communicating. To confirm GIP communication, start a session with the vehicle using FDRS. From the Vehicle Info tab, select IPC. Under Module Details, if device identification (DID) F120 indicates Null, the GIP is faulted, and the IPC module (base part number: 10849) requires replacement. Do not replace the IPC display for this condition. For claiming, use causal part 10849 and M-time.

Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:87 in various modules when a diagnostic self-test is performed, which includes: powertrain control module (PCM), advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), anti-lock brake system (ABS), power steering control module (PSCM), body control module (BCM), telematics control unit (TCU), driver door module (DDM), and/or passengers door module (PDM). This may be due to the modules DTC sensitivity during vehicle key-on/start-up. Replacement or reprogramming of these module(s) may not resolve this condition. U211B:87 should be ignored if: no other DTCs are present, no warning indicators are illuminated while the engine is running and no noticeable symptoms are present. No further service action is required.

Some 2021-2023 F-Super Duty/E-Series vehicles equipped with a 6.2L, 6.8L or 7.3L gasoline engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0457 and/or P0455 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to a improper fuel filler cap installation and/or outside contamination on the fuel cap sealing surface. The fuel filler cap requires multiple turns to seal properly and should be clean of any debris on sealing surface. Advise the customer to turn the fuel filler cap clockwise until there is at least one audible click to seal properly. If the DTCs return after the fuel filler cap is cleared of debris and properly seated, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-13 > pinpoint test HX.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

2011-2023 F-Super Duty and 2016-2024 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an elevated idle condition. During prolonged idle time, vehicles may experience this elevated idle to reduce unburned hydrocarbons from the SCR. The powertrain control module estimates hydrocarbon levels in the SCR and may increase idle speed to remove them. Idle speed will be increased to 1000 RPM for ambient temperatures near 26°C (80°F) and may increase to 1200 RPM at -40 °C (-40°F). Vehicles may exhibit exhaust smoke and diesel exhaust fluid smell during elevated idle condition. Exhaust smoke and smell condition will not affect reliability or durability of the engine. Power take-off (PTO) use and idle set point control will disable elevated speed. It is required that the operator monitor the vehicle and adhere to any Exhaust Filter warning messages.

Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles do not have a compass displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Replacement or reprogramming the IPC will not enable the feature. Inform customers that Ford is planning to deploy an enhancement via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) in 4Q2023. Software will update automatically on vehicles with connected vehicle features enabled. Monitor OASIS for additional information. Schedule a service appointment in late 4Q2023, for customers without connected vehicle features enabled once the enhancement becomes available.
