All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.

For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

This may be a result of using aftermarket cleaning liquids or tools for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler or intake. Ford does not recommend the cleaning of diesel intakes or EGR coolers using any aftermarket tool that injects a cleaning foam or liquid substance into the EGR cooler or intake. Using these types of fluids can result in sodium poisoning of the NOx and particulate matter (PM) sensors resulting in degraded operation and permanent damage to the aftertreatment system. Use of these cleaning tools may void the emissions warranty of the hot end aftertreatment exhaust system and the attached emissions sensors.

Some 2011-2018 F-Super Duty 6.7L diesel equipped vehicles may exhibit a ticking noise at idle after an engine oil change. It is often referred to as Typewriter Noise because of its similarity to the sound of a mechanical typewriter. When engine temperatures reach 150 Å?F (65 Å?C) or higher, (from engine idle up to approximately 1700 RPM's), this noise can typically be heard at the front wheel well and is often isolated to the transmission bell housing or oil pan area. Typewriter Noise is not detrimental to engine function or durability and has no short or long term effects on the engine. Do not attempt repairs to eliminate this noise. This noise is characteristic of the 6.7L diesel engine and will typically cease or diminish significantly within the oil change maintenance interval.

The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. 2015-2017 - F-SUPER DUTY, F-650/750 WITH 6.7L DIESEL AND 2015-2017 TRANSIT - 3.2L DIESEL EQUIPPED VEHICLES USE A SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION (SCR) SYSTEM DESIGNED TO REDUCE THE VEHICLES EXHAUST EMISSIONS. THE DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID (DEF) TANK IS FILLED TO SPECIFICATION AT THE ASSEMBLY PLANT. DEALERS ARE NOT INSTRUCTED TO CHECK OR TOP OFF THE DEF FLUID ON THE PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION (PDI) SERVICE RECORD (CHECK SHEET) AND ARE THEREFORE NOT AUTHORIZED TO TOP-OFF THE TANKS DURING PDI. THE VEHICLE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MESSAGE CENTER IS DESIGNED TO INDICATE WHEN THE DEF IS LOW (EXHAUST FLUID LOW OR EXHAUST FLUID EMPTY). THE SCR SYSTEM SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR REPAIR AT PDI ONLY IF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MESSAGE CENTER INDICATES THAT THERE IS DEF SYSTEM FAULT OR LOW FLUID LEVEL.

Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
