Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit a concern where the vehicle is unable to achieve 100 percent state of charge immediately after high voltage (HV) battery module replacement. This may be due to the battery energy control module (BECM) adjusting the cell balance (conditioning) of the battery module and should be corrected within 16 days. If the vehicle otherwise functions as designed with no related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) setting, this concern will be corrected automatically with no further actions required by the technician.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E/F-150 vehicles may exhibit a Reverse Brake Assist Unavailable message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with missing active guide lines in the reverse camera display. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U0415:86 may also be present in the IPMA. This may be due to a network interruption during module programming and/or when a module was disconnected which can cause the steering center find to be reset and various features to become disabled. The steering center find can be relearned by driving the vehicle for approximately 5 minutes, above 18 mph (30 km/h) and with no steering wheel input for a few seconds. When steering center is found, the Reverse Brake Assist Unavailable message should clear. If the active guide lines are missing, perform the IPMA camera alignment using Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS).

Some 2021 F-150/Mustang Mach-E/Bronco/Edge/Nautilus customers may experience an inoperative FordPass/LincolnWay app, features in FordPass/LincolnWay are not functioning and/or the customer cannot pair the FordPass/LincolnWay mobile app to the vehicle. If the telematics control unit (TCU) on the vehicle does not exhibit any diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), but the customer is running into these app concerns, this may be due to poor cell signal getting to the TCU. The TCU - Provisioning Application on the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool will provide cell signal strength information that can help to diagnose the source of the poor cell signal. If poor cell signal is found, refer to WSM 415-00 to help identify an antenna concern. Be sure the vehicle is an open environment.

Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E, F-150, Edge/Nautilus or Bronco vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may have a customer symptom of the SYNC voice commands being activated without pushing the steering wheel switch. Some 2018-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may not be able to perform remote commands via the FordPass/LincolnWay App due to an erroneous deep sleep message. If the vehicle has been driven within 14 days and the battery state of charge is above 9.5 volts when the deep sleep message set, this is an erroneous message. Starting and running the vehicle will clear the message and allow the remote commands to function again. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that will be released via an over the air (OTA) update that is expected in June 2021. Replacement or reprogramming of the telematics control unit (TCU)/gateway module (GWM) will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
