Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

In the event of excessive spline wear, customers may experience a seal leak and eventually may experience a loss of motive power or unintended vehicle movement while the vehicle is in Park if the parking brake is not applied. Loss of motive power while driving or vehicle rollaway can increase the risk of a crash."
