Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Warranty Information Letter for Detroit New Service Replacement Engine SRT Update. While validating Standard Repair Times (SRTs) for Detroit's new Gen 5 engine series, DTNA discovered an error in a pre-Gen 5 SRT for the New Service Replacement Engine Program. As a result, DTNA re-studied the SRT and concluded that time for removing/re-installing multiple components (e.g., exhaust manifold/turbo, engine sensor harness, rocker arm assemblies, etc.) should not be included.

Revised Freightliner Service Bulletin for Axle Flange Gasket Replaced with O-Ring. Revision removed steps instructing removal and installation of wheels. Daimler Trucks North America has released a new axle shaft to hub rubber O-ring (part number 11-30728-000) as a replacement for the paper gasket (part number 11-14418-000). The new O-ring will provide better sealing and is reusable. It is quicker and easier to use compared to the paper gasket, because using a paper gasket requires cleaning the hub when the axle shaft is removed.

Information is added about the BCT-460DTNA PowerNet Assessment Tool. When troubleshooting Powernet issues, use the BCT-460DTNA PowerNet Assessment Tool. As of May 29, 2018, the AutoMeterî is the only Daimler-approved tool for troubleshooting vehicle Powernet issues.

Freightliner Service Bulletin for Non-Airliner Rear Suspension Crossmember Fastener Change. With the start of production on March 2, 2020, the fasteners used to assemble the non-Airliner rear suspension (bogie) crossmember have changed. The rear suspension bogie crossmember gussets to the C-channel will be assembled with 5/8 - 18 fasteners. This change includes a revision to a higher friction nut that requires an increase in tightening torque. The new higher friction nut can be identified by its green color.

If a truck tractor is ordered without mudflaps and/or mudflap support brackets, the rear reflective tape applied to the mudflaps or mudflap brackets during production is delivered loose with the vehicle. FMVSS/CMVSS 108 S5.7.1.4.3 requires reflective tape on all truck tractors domiciled in the United States and Canada.

On Freightliner Cascadia and New Cascadia vehicles manufactured before May 20, 2019, and equipped with side-fairings, the magnets that hold the kickplate closed may corrode and prevent the kickplate from staying in the closed position.

Service Bulletin for Draining Water Trapped in the Upper A-Pillar. A water leak in the seams between the cab roof and cab side wall or back wall can result in water becoming trapped in the upper A-pillar area in some Cascadia and New Cascadia vehicles. This water may migrate inside the cab and eventually spill through the marker light fastener clearance holes and drip on the dash.

Service Bulletin for Replacing Windshield Gasket. Different types of cab leaks can result in water dripping from the top of the windshield, onto the dash. Replacing a windshield gasket unnecessarily may create new leak issues. Do not replace a windshield gasket unless it has been confirmed to leak, using the cab pressure test.
