CX Advocate for turbo oil drain cracking
Vehicle report
Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Technical Service Letter for GHG17 1-Box Inlet and Outlet Exhaust Clamps. There is a short supply of exhaust clamps, part number DDE A6809950502, used as inlet and outlet exhaust clamps on GHG17 heavy duty engines (DD13, DD15 and DD16) with a 1-Box aftertreatment configuration. Exhaust clamp part number TCX T130158342AC2 may be used as a substitute for DDE A6809950502, but be aware of the different torque specs between the two parts.
SB35-036
Revised Freightliner Service Bulletin for Axle Flange Gasket Replaced with O-Ring. Revision removed steps instructing removal and installation of wheels. Daimler Trucks North America has released a new axle shaft to hub rubber O-ring (part number 11-30728-000) as a replacement for the paper gasket (part number 11-14418-000). The new O-ring will provide better sealing and is reusable. It is quicker and easier to use compared to the paper gasket, because using a paper gasket requires cleaning the hub when the axle shaft is removed.
SB54-278
Updated Freightliner Service Bulletin for Powernet Troubleshooting Guide - Batteries, Path, Alternator, and Starter. This bulletin replaces the version dated 5/31/2017. Information is added about the BCT-460DTNA PowerNet Assessment Tool. When troubleshooting Powernet issues, use the BCT-460DTNA PowerNet Assessment Tool. As of May 29, 2018, the AutoMeterî is the only Daimler-approved tool for troubleshooting vehicle Powernet issues.
TechTalk7679
Tech Talk discussion on repair verification for codes like 'low air flow' when a trailer is not available.
SB31-043
Freightliner Service Bulletin for Non-Airliner Rear Suspension Crossmember Fastener Change. With the start of production on March 2, 2020, the fasteners used to assemble the non-Airliner rear suspension (bogie) crossmember have changed. The rear suspension bogie crossmember gussets to the C-channel will be assembled with 5/8 - 18 fasteners. This change includes a revision to a higher friction nut that requires an increase in tightening torque. The new higher friction nut can be identified by its green color.
SB60-171
Service Bulletin for Guidelines for Cleaning and Disinfecting Cab Surfaces. The following guidelines are for cleaning and disinfecting commonly touched surfaces on the inside and outside of a vehicle. For best results, follow cleaning and disinfecting procedures fully and consistently. Ensure there is adequate ventilation when using chemicals. NOTICE: Wipe down fragile components carefully to avoid damaging the vehicle.
SB54-327
Service Bulletin for Lengthening the Backup Light Harness. Though the backup light harness is long enough to connect to the backup light switch, it may be short enough that the wire seals in the connector can be stressed. Moisture entering through the seals can cause corrosion, resulting in a bad connection and/or failure of the switch. As a result, backup lights and, if equipped, the backup alarm, may not function when the vehicle is shifted into reverse.
SB32-033
Freightliner Service Bulletin for Front Axle Spacer Replacement. This service bulletin replaces the version dated 05/01/2016. This bulletin is updated to include the parts list. Some vehicles may exhibit a lean (right or left) due to weight difference on the front suspension. While this does not affect the operation of the vehicle, it may be visually unpleasing to many customers. To correct this condition, replace the existing front axle spacer on the low side of the vehicle with a thicker one.

The intent of a SIB is to notify the service network of a major change to one or more service procedures. Do not save SIBs nor reference them for repairs, as they are uncontrolled and never updated.

Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
