SB-15-031 Foreign debris in the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tank may cause the SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction) system to malfunction. This can result in DTC?s (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) P20E8 or P20E9 - DEF Pressure Abnormality. An inlet strainer for the DEF tank has been made available to prevent foreign material from entering the DEF tank.

SB-15-019 Reinforcement brackets and fiberglass repair methods have been made available to address hood crack concerns. In the event a subject vehicle experiences cracking of the hood near the hinges, this repair procedure should be used to address this condition. While these repair methods may be effective at repairing a hood that was damaged from impact, impact damage repair is not warrantable. Hoods should be inspected for damage prior to performing this procedure.

SB-15-026 A subject vehicle may exhibit an engine oil leak or engine coolant leaking externally from the engine head gasket sealing area on the exhaust manifold side of the engine. An improved head gasket has been made available as a service part and should be used if replacement of the head gasket is necessary. Improvement of the head gasket includes the addition of rubber seals around the engine oil and engine coolant port holes.

HINT: In case the DTC P204F has being recorded in the engine ECU, but no DTC has been detected in the DCU, it is safe to think that power supply to the DCU was interrupted before the DTC was recorded into the DCU. In that case, please check for corrosion or abnormalities on the battery terminal. If there is abnormality, clean or replace the battery terminal, and after deleting past DTC, please verify again if P204F is detected.

The casting for the engine oil cooler housing has been revised to include 2 shallow machined grooves on both sides of the engine oil cooler housing. These grooves aid in the retention of liquid gasket used during engine production. This changed the appearance of the engine oil cooler housing but does not affect function or applicability.

SB ? 05 - 006 Upon removal of a transmission assembly from the vehicle, inspection is required to confirm the presence and correct installation of the two dowel pins in the rear engine housing. In some rare cases one or both dowel pins may have come out with the transmission during removal. These pins need to be positioned in the engine housing prior to the installation of a replacement transmission assembly. If flex plate is broken, please confirm that the two dowel pins can be found either on the rear engine housing or on the transmission housing.
