Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
After connecting to a truck using DX3, it may be necessary to review or create a DX Diagnostic Report for review.
Vehicle report
Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

167-B1602-12
SB-16-015 Enhanced DCU (Dosing Control Unit) software has been released.Illumination of the check engine light. The DCU may falsely detect an issue and record any of the 3 following DTC?s in the DCU. P142A(DEF pump temperature sensor - Out of range) P204B(DEF pressure sensor ? Rationality) P20A1(Reverting valve for DEF pump stuck close) In rare cases, the completion of the after-run process might be mistakenly aborted. This occurs when the ignition key is cycled back on and then off prior to after-run completion. If this occurs when ambient temperatures are below freezing and the urea is allowed to fully freeze, internal damage to the DEF pump may occur. Once damaged, urea could migrate into the DEF pump electrical connector and SCR harness resulting in corrosion. This corrosion could result in detection of any combination of SCR(Selective Catalyst Reductant) DTC?s including but not limited to: P142A(DEF pump temperature sensor - Out of range) P208A(DEF pump motor circuit - Open load) P208B(DEF pump motor - Functional) The enhanced DCU software prevents the after-run process from being aborted prior to completion.

SB-16-007 If DTC(Diagnostic Trouble Code) P0611:Fuel Injector Driver Charge Circuit - Circuit Low has set in the engine ECU(Electronic Control Unit) and the workshop manual diagnostic procedure has led to ECU replacement, an enhanced engine ECU is available to prevent this DTC from recurring. Replace the engine ECU with the part number listed below.

SB-16-006 Some vehicles built before January 2016 and equipped with a leaf spring rear suspension may experience a dislodged or missing spring pad. As an enhancement, the rear axle leaf spring hanger design has been changed to eliminate the spring pad. In the event that one or more spring pads have become dislodged or found missing, all four rear axle leaf spring hangers should be replaced with the enhanced design hangers.

SCB-006-15 1) DPR System (Diesel Particulate Regeneration) manual regeneration may not complete; this occurs when the BCU temporally detects sticking of the CAV (Combustion Air Valve). This mis-detection will cause regeneration to be suspended. In order to avoid this interruption of DPR manual regeneration, enhanced BCU (Burner Control Unit) software is available. 2) Misdetection of P2030 (Burner System Misfire); the BCU monitors the flame temperature to confirm burner ignition occurred correctly. In some cases, a misfire may be mis-detected if the flame is not in direct contact with the sensor. In order to prevent this mis-detection enhanced BCU software is available.
167-B1528-12
SB-15-031 Foreign debris in the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tank may cause the SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction) system to malfunction. This can result in DTC?s (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) P20E8 or P20E9 - DEF Pressure Abnormality. An inlet strainer for the DEF tank has been made available to prevent foreign material from entering the DEF tank.
167-R1502-12
AA0F0 DPR clogging may occur due to an increase in the amount of soot in the exhaust gas as a result of engine component degradation. In order to reduce the soot in the exhaust gas during this situation, even when the engine components are degraded, enhanced ECU software is available.

TT-15-016 The purpose of this publication is to communicate the standard measuring positions on the Hino chassis. In some cases, the customer may report a visual chassis posture concern where the chassis appears to be leaning more towards the driver side or passenger side. The following publication can be referenced to obtain the manufacture?s measurement positions and specifications. Should the truck not meet the specifications, you should consider the following potential causes noted in the inspection guideline section below.

SB-15-019 Reinforcement brackets and fiberglass repair methods have been made available to address hood crack concerns. In the event a subject vehicle experiences cracking of the hood near the hinges, this repair procedure should be used to address this condition. While these repair methods may be effective at repairing a hood that was damaged from impact, impact damage repair is not warrantable. Hoods should be inspected for damage prior to performing this procedure.

SB-15-026 A subject vehicle may exhibit an engine oil leak or engine coolant leaking externally from the engine head gasket sealing area on the exhaust manifold side of the engine. An improved head gasket has been made available as a service part and should be used if replacement of the head gasket is necessary. Improvement of the head gasket includes the addition of rubber seals around the engine oil and engine coolant port holes.

SB-15-014 CORRECTION OF WORKSHOP MANUAL FOR 2011MY-2014MY (ADDITION AND CORRECTION OF BURNER SYSTEM)
RCB-003-15
If the parking brake is not released in accordance with the instructions in the Driver?s/Owner?s Manual (such as releasing the parking brake lever only by pushing the lever release button, without holding the lever with the hand, until it is completely released), the tension of the brake cable could be released quickly, causing an increase in the friction between the long hole in the slide area and the cable joining pin. In addition, improper adjustment of the parking brake cable that is stretched due to repeated operation of the parking brake could increase the contact force between the cable joining pin and the long hole in the slide area of the parking brake lever during the operation of the parking brake. If the parking brake continues to be operated in such a condition, the long hole in the slide area of the parking brake lever becomes worn and the long hole diameter becomes enlarged. If that condition occurs, the washer fixed to the cable joining pin can become stuck in the worn and enlarged long hole when the parking brake lever is pulled. This situation may prevent the parking brake lever being pulled to its full stroke, leading to the application of insufficient brake force. In the worst case situation, vibration can cause the washer which is stuck in the worn and enlarged long hole to come off, releasing the parking brake lever and resulting in the vehicle moving.

SB-15-010 Some vehicles that operate in extreme cold weather climates may exhibit ice accumulation on the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) butterfly plate with a repeat P1604 DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) stored in the engine ECU. 13-010 CORRECTION OF WORKSHOP MANUALS. HINT: In case the DTC P204F has being recorded in the engine ECU, but no DTC has been detected in the DCU, it is safe to think that power supply to the DCU was interrupted before the DTC was recorded into the DCU. CONDITION: Many Flame Temperature Sensors are being replaced for burner failure (as shown below) but in many cases the sensor itself is not the issue. Please follow the guidelines in this bulletin to determine whether the sensor should be replaced. For example, in the case of the flame temperature indicating 0° Celsius on the burner monitor screen, as shown in the sample data below, or indicated as above 4000° Celsius in the event log (except at the ignition or misfire event) it is not a malfunction of the sensor but is just a temporary misrecognition of the sensor.
