Service bulletins

Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

Does the front seat-back creak or squeak when you move around in the seat or get in or out of the vehicle? What’s likely causing it is the seat-back fabric rubbing against the foam pad underneath. This noise only happens when the seat gets hot (the seat temperature is over 104° F). We’re aware of this concern and we’re currently working on a solution, so, at this time, there’s no product improvement available. Until there is, don’t try replacing the seat frame or the seat-back pad. You won’t get rid of this noise and you just might wind up with a come-back. Be sure to pass this info along to the service advisor so he or she can inform your customer of the situation.

Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
