This bulletin lists the criteria and provides an application form for such replacements. · The “VIN Plate/Label” (metal plate or vinyl label) is attached to the instrument panel or body on the driver side at the base of the windshield (see Figure 1). · The “Certification Label” (vinyl adhesive label) is located on the lower area of the driver side B-Pillar (see Figure 1).

This behavior is normal, and no repairs should be performed. When the AEB system performs an intentional shutdown, the customer may state the following:  The ICC stopped working while driving,  The AEB/FEB warning light is ON, or turned ON, while driving (Figure 1),  The message “Unavailable Front Radar Obstruction” or “Forward Driving Aids Temporarily Disabled Front Sensor Blocked See Owner's Manual” has displayed while driving (Figure 2). TURBOCHARGER REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE APPLIED ENGINES: VR30DDTT IF YOU CONFIRM One or both turbochargers require replacement. ACTION 1. Replace the affected turbocharger(s).  Refer to the SERVICE PROCEDURE in this bulletin for the updated procedure. IMPORTANT: You MUST closely follow the entire SERVICE PROCEDURE as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair. 2. Refer to step 212 in the SERVICE PROCEDURE to confirm if the ECM needs to be reprogrammed.  2016-2024 Q50 and 2017-2021 Q60 will require ECM reprogramming at the end of this SERVICE PROCEDURE. 3. SERVICE INFORMATION The APPLIED VEHICLES are equipped with a wireless communication device called a Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). The TCU communicates with the Infiniti Data Center to provide various security and convenience services. This bulletin contains important service procedures that must be performed properly in order to set-up and maintain the telematics system for the APPLIED VEHICLES.  An Order of Completion table has been provided on the next page that lists the steps required to successfully configure a TCU after it has been replaced.  A CHECK-OFF SHEET has been provided on page 16. Print and check off steps as they are completed. Staple the completed CHECK-OFF SHEET to the repair order.

TELEMATICS CONTROL UNIT RESET AFTER AUTOMATIC COLLISION NOTIFICATION SERVICE INFORMATION The Telematics Control Unit (TCU) has the ability to send an automatic collision notification when the vehicle is involved in an accident. Once an automatic collision notification is performed, the function becomes disabled and the TCU must be reset to re-enable the automatic collision notification function. Some models will store DTC B2E1B-97 for “Automatic eCAll locked” as “CURRENT” when this function is disabled. This bulletin describes how to reset the TCU after an automatic collision notification has been performed. For models with B2E1B-97 for “Automatic eCAll locked” set as “CURRENT”, complete the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2, and then erase DTCs after confirming the TCU condition is “UNLOCK”.

SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR INFOTAINMENT ISSUES SERVICE INFORMATION When diagnosing an infotainment issue or after replacement of the AV Control Unit, it is necessary to verify the current software version of the AV Control Unit to determine if a software version update is required. Use the vehicle tables in this bulletin to determine the current software version, if the AV Control Unit requires a software version update, and which procedure to use to update the AV Control Unit. The software updates in this bulletin are to address stability improvements and “bug” fixes. IMPORTANT: If the client is experiencing a software related concern, refer to ITB21-011 to verify if the client concern is a hardware or software related issue. If the concern is a software related issue, review the information in this bulletin to update the AV Control Unit as needed.

INFOTAINMENT CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION When replacing an AV control unit (Infotainment Control Unit), for any reason, all three steps below are required. If all three steps are not completed on vehicles equipped with a TCU, the Over The Air (OTA) updates will not work, and other functions may be inoperative. HINT: Not all APPLIED VEHICLES are OTA-update capable. 1. Reprogram the AV control unit. 2. Configure the AV control unit. 3. Write the VIN to the AV control unit. IMPORTANT: Steps 1-3 above must be performed in the sequential order shown below.

DRIVE SHAFT BOOT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION If a Drive Shaft (Axle Shaft) Boot on an APPLIED VEHICLE is found to be leaking grease, AND There is no abnormal noise or obvious CV Joint risk due to water intrusion and/or complete grease loss, check for REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (cv Joint Boot Kit) availability.  If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the retailer.  If there is NOT a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. IMPORTANT: When servicing vehicles with staked axle nuts, refer to ITB21-002 to prevent Drive Shaft thread damage.

B2E01-96 (INTERNAL BATTERY) DTC STORED AS CURRENT IN IVC SERVICE INFORMATION CONSULT has been updated to allow DTC B2E01-96 (Internal battery) to be cleared in the Telematics Control Unit (TCU). If DTC B2E01-96 is Current/Active in the TCU, and no additional Current/Active DTCs are present in the TCU, perform the SERVICE PROCEURE starting on page 2.

SERVICE INFORMATION FOR FUEL GAUGE INACCURATE WITH DTCS STORED IN ECM SERVICE INFORMATION If a fuel level sensor has been diagnosed as sending an incorrect level signal, and one or more of the following DTCs are stored in the ECM, do not replace the entire “Fuel Level Sensor Unit, Fuel Filter and Fuel Pump Assembly” (fuel pump assembly). The fuel level sensor can be replaced separately.  P0460 (FUEL LEV SEN SLOSH)  P0461 (FUEL LEVEL SENSOR)  P0462 (FUEL LEVL SEN/CIRC)  P0463 (FUEL LEVL SEN/CIRC) NOTE: Warranty claims referring to fuel level issues that result in the replacement of the entire fuel pump assembly will be charged back.

BATTERY QUICK CHARGE NOTICE SERVICE INFORMATION When charging the vehicle’s 12 volt battery with the high amperage quick charge function, the ignition should never be ON, or turned ON, while charging. Attempting to start the vehicle, or turning the ignition ON, while using the high amperage quick charge could potentially damage the fuel pump control module.  Only turn the ignition ON when either the ESM or a technical service bulletin service procedure states to do so, and only while using a battery maintainer or smart charger set to reflash mode, or a similar setting.  Battery voltage should not exceed 16V during a reprograming operation.
