Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.
Solenoid Failure
Some trucks may have received a Liquid Controls meter with a faulty S1 solenoid. Malfunctioning of the solenoid may force the differential valve downstream of the meter to close prematurely and thus stop flow through the meter entirely or not allow preset delivery.
Toolbox Bracket
A quality issue was discovered on a very limited number or toolbox brackets installed on Jarco propane bobtail trucks from November 13, 2023 to January 5, 2024. The toolboxes mounted on the side of a Jarco propane truck are attached using a pair of 3-piece aluminum or steel brackets. A very small number of aluminum brackets were found to have inadequate welds. These brackets need to be replaced in a timely manner in order to avoid premature failure.
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
