Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
KTM North America, Inc. has determined that a deviation has been found with the shift shaft stop of certain 2020 1290 Super Duke R models. On affected VINâs the shift shaft stop may not be the proper length intended during gear changes. During operation this could cause the motorcycle to feel hard to shift. To remedy this the shift shaft must be replaced with a new revised version. The revised shift shaft P.N. 61734005044 (Fig.1) has a new additional stop which is pictured in the bulletin.
