Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

TSB: Long-term or off-site storage requires special care to keep vehicles factory fresh and ready for delivery. The following guidelines should be performed to minimize vehicle component/part degradation due to extended vehicle storage conditions. Long-term storage can affect a vehicle?s systems and components. Any problems that are found should be corrected immediately.
L-SB-0017-20
TSB: A battery in a stored vehicle is subject to conditions that can reduce its performance and service life. These conditions include storage period, temperature, parasitic drain, and battery load. Because of these factors, battery inspection and maintenance are required in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life. As a matter of policy, Lexus does not provide battery warranty coverage for discharged and/or failed batteries due to lack of maintenance. It is the dealer?s responsibility to maintain the specified State-Of-Charge (SOC) of the vehicle?s battery while in stock and ensure proper SOC at delivery. To eliminate customer service concerns due to an undercharged battery during the first few weeks of ownership, ALL dealers should check battery SOC and recharge, if necessary, no more than 48 hours before delivery to the customer.

TSB: The 2021 model year Lexus vehicles are equipped with factory-installed XM Satellite Radio, including a 90-day free customer trial. As part of the Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) process, ensure that the XM Satellite Radio is activated and ready for use.

TT: Due to the challenges caused by the COVID-19 virus threat, some dealers are experiencing reduced traffic into their stores and causing dealer stock to age. Due to this situation, dealers are reminded and recommended to follow the Long-Term Vehicle Storage Guidelines outlined in L-SB-0015-20 and other Service Bulletin publications to ensure customers receive their vehicles in a fresh and well maintained condition. Please ensure that both Sales and Service at your dealership are aware of these guidelines and are following the recommended maintenance and storage processes and procedures to ensure the highest customer satisfaction with their new vehicle purchase.

TSB: 2021 model year Lexus vehicles are equipped with driver side floor mat retaining hooks (clips) to secure the floor mat in the correct position. In addition, some models may also utilize retaining hooks (clips) for passenger side and rear seat floor mats. During Pre-Delivery Service (PDS), follow the Installation Procedure in this bulletin to attach the driver side, and if applicable, the passenger side and rear seat floor mats to the vehicle carpet using the floor mat retaining hooks (clips).

TSB: During the manufacturing process, tires are mounted on the vehicle as matched sets to help reduce conditions such as pulling or drifting. If the wheels are replaced or refinished before vehicle delivery, it is important that the tires remain on the vehicle in the same location and in the same direction of rotation.
L-SB-0010-20
TSB: Some 2021 model year Lexus vehicles are equipped with an eOwner?s Manual (eOM), which is installed into the head unit while the vehicle is in transit. During Pre-Delivery Service (PDS), follow the instructions contained within the Software Confirmation section of this bulletin to ensure that the software is installed correctly. If it is found that the software is not installed correctly, proceed to the Software Installation section of this bulletin. It may also be necessary to reinstall the eOM software after replacing the head unit. Refer to the Software Confirmation section of this bulletin to determine if the software is already installed. If the software is not installed, proceed to the USB Flash Drive Preparation and Software Installation sections of this bulletin.

TT: After performing a battery test using the DCA-8000 battery diagnostic charger and the battery health has been considered a ?Good? condition, the DCA will automatically enter a post-test charging mode. In the post-test charging mode, the DCA analyzes the current state of charge of the battery and automatically begins to charge the battery to a fully charged condition, 100% state of charge. The time required to charge the battery to full will vary. Once the DCA enters the post-test charging mode the battery test has been completed, and further charging can be conducted under the Technician?s discretion. Selecting ?Stop? will cancel the automatic charging of the battery and return the user to the DCA results screen. The test results and charge time can be printed or emailed from the results screen.
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
