Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red. 09-031/25 08/05/25 DESCRIPTION While driving on gravel or dusty roads, dust accumulates at the lower inner edge of the door garnish. When the rear door is opened, the dust may be blown up and enter the cabin, adhering to the seats and the floor. This is caused by a large gap at the lower part of the boundary between the rear door and the front door, and air containing dust and/or sand is sucked up into the gap, accumulating at the lower edge of the rear door garnish while driving. To eliminate this concern, a mass production change is under study. NOTE: In environments where passengers frequently enter and exit the vehicle under dusty conditions (e.g. dirt or gravel roads, off-road driving), a certain amount of dust will enter into the cabin, even in other types of vehicles. Therefore, this phenomenon is not limited to the causes described in this document. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. NOTE: This repair procedure is an interim countermeasure. After a mass production change is implemented, the repair procedure will be updated. Attach the protectors (urethane pads, deflectors and protectors) to both sides of the designated locations according to the following steps.

Some customers may complain that an abnormal noise is heard from the front suspension when driving on rough road surfaces or when passing over speed bumps. This is caused by insufficient heat resistance of the bushing material under specific operating conditions, resulting in cracking and fluid leakage in the front lower arm bushing. To eliminate this concern: The bushing material has been changed to a heat-resistant material. The bushing shape has been modified to reduce deformation. The damping characteristics of the front lower arm bushing have been modified. REPAIR PROCEDURE If noise is detected, replace the front lower arm (rear side) according to the instructions in MGSS.

You are receiving this notice because Mazda’s records indicate that you have a 2025-2026 Mazda CX-70 vehicle manufactured before November 19, 2025. Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct a Customer Service Program CSP (15) to inform you that Mazda is expanding the scope of coverage under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty to provide necessary repairs free of charge if your Covered Vehicle has experienced rear brake squeal and to inform you that you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for past out-of-pocket expenses you previously incurred for repairs on the terms and conditions as described below. Repair parts are not currently available. It is expected that parts will become available in May 2026. Another letter will be sent to you once parts are available to repair your vehicle with instructions for making an appointment at your nearest Mazda dealer. Warranty Coverage Expansion Mazda is expanding the scope of coverage under the standard 3 years/36,000 miles, whichever comes first, warranty to provide necessary repairs at no cost to you if your Covered Vehicle experiences rear brake squeal. If your Covered Vehicle is currently experiencing rear brake squeal, you will be eligible for a one-time rear brake pads replacement with Mazda’s redesigned brake pads. A dealer must inspect and confirm your Covered Vehicle is experiencing rear brake squeal matching Technical Service Bulletin (“TSB”) 04-003/26 for you to receive the repairs at no cost to you. The TSB is scheduled to be released when the parts are expected to be available. The newly installed redesigned brake pads will be covered for rear brake squeal under your Covered Vehicle’s original limited warranty of 3 years/36,000 miles, or for 1 year/12,000 miles from the installation of the redesigned brake pad, whichever is later. If your Covered Vehicle is currently experiencing rear brake squeal and is more than 3 years old or exceeds 36,000 miles, whichever comes first, you will receive three (3) months, after the Part Available Notice Letter has been sent, to receive the redesigned brake pad under the terms of this notice. Repairs under this warranty extension during the coverage period must be completed at a Mazda dealer. Reimbursement Mazda is offering reimbursement to owners and lessees of a Covered Vehicle who previously incurred out-of-pocket expenses for inspections and repairs to rear brake components caused by rear brake squeal before your vehicle reached 3 years or 36,000 miles from the vehicle’s in-service date (meaning, the start date of the warranty for the vehicle), whichever is earlier (“Eligible Costs”) subject to the following limitations as described in this letter. Repairs completed at a non-Mazda facility after April 2026 as printed in this Owner Letter are not eligible for reimbursement.

This SA supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s) listed below. The changes are noted below in Red. SA-007/25 10/22/25, 06/02/25 and 02/03/25 DESCRIPTION The Mazda DCA-8000 is required for all warranty battery testing. If the Mazda DCA-8000 is not used, incorrect battery testing may result in unnecessary battery replacement. Use the following test procedures in this Service Bulletin to test Mazda vehicle batteries and to generate a Warranty Code. NOTE: A Warranty Code is required for warranty claim submission Battery Identification (Mazda batteries have 2 rating types) 1. JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard): JIS codes are six-digit alpha-numeric markings (excluding i-STOP batteries e.g. Q-85, S-95) molded into the top of the battery to identify a battery by the capacity (amps), dimensions, and battery terminal type. Vehicles manufactured in Japan come from the factory with a JIS rated battery. NOTE: Replacement batteries may use a CCA rating. If so, use the CCA rating listed on the battery. 2. CCA (Cold Cranking Amps): CCA ratings are normally located on a sticker affixed to the top of the battery to indicate a battery’s Cold Cranking Amps. CCA rated batteries are supplied with domestically produced vehicles. NOTE: If an incorrect CCA rating is entered into the Mazda DCA-8000, it will result in a false result and invalid Warranty Code from the tester. This will also result in unnecessary replacement of batteries. TEST PROCEDURE 1. Connect the charger clamps to the appropriate battery posts.

IMPORTANT: When a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch is installed on a vehicle equipped with hands-free liftgate function, the sensing area is reduced due to the mechanical structure of the hitch. The hands-free liftgate’s optimal sensing area below the rear bumper is shown in green boxes in the image below. Since the left side of the hitch has a 7-pin connector socket, the right side is the most ideal for hands-free operation. For safety, be extra careful performing the kicking motion around the hitch. Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
This Service Alert supersedes the previously issued SA(s) and TSB(s) listed below: The changes are noted in Red. SA-035/24 05/31/24 DESCRIPTION There is a concern that some water pumps are being replaced that are not faulty, due to signs of a very small coolant leak from the bleed hole. This Service Alert is to inform you about the water pump sealing mechanism and the criteria if replacement is necessary or not. A mechanical seal (A) is used for the water pump. This mechanical seal can seal coolant (B) by sliding a mating ring (C) against a seal ring (D). When the sliding surface temperature of the mechanical seal is more than 248 °F (120 °C) while driving, a small amount of steam (E) is leaked and bleeds through the bleeding hole (F). After drying, the steam leaves a green coolant deposit near the water pump bleed hole (F). This is a normal condition and does not require water pump replacement. The water pump should only be replaced if there is an accumulation of crystallized coolant near the bleed hole. When you encounter a water pump with coolant seepage marks, decide to replace it or not based on the following criteria using sample photos. NOTE: During the initial period of use*, the sliding surfaces of the seals may not yet be fully settled, which can temporarily increase the amount of leakage. Continued use will allow the surfaces to settle, reducing the leakage. Replacing parts that are already settled with new ones will increase the leakage again until the new parts become conditioned. Therefore, replacement should be avoided in this initial period of use. *As a guideline, this applies to vehicles with less than 1,860 miles (3000 km) of mileage.

There are currently 2 methods for cutting a new auxiliary key blank. A. Auxiliary Key Trace Cut Method • B. Auxiliary Key Code Cut Method 2019 and newer models require a 10-digit key code to accurately cut keys • 5-digit codes CANNOT be provided for 2019 and newer vehicles (the traditional 5-digit code from the key tag or driver's door lock cylinder is not sufficient and will not be issued for key cutting on these models). • Only Mazda-approved key cutting machines can process these 10-digit codes. • Many older key machines do not support 10-digit codes and cannot be updated to do so. In these cases, dealers will need to purchase one of the newer Mazda-approved key cutting machines capable of handling this requirement. • For a list of current Mazda-approved machines and purchasing options, refer to the Mazda Dealer Equipment Program or view the current Mazda approved key machines below.

The 7G large platform utilizes a new 8-speed automatic transmission. Due to changes in the parking lock mechanism, which is now hydraulically operated, the neutral range in the transmission can only be achieved if the engine is running (or “Ready-On” for PHEV). With this design, there is no provision to manually engage neutral. This can cause challenges to dealers, customers, or towing providers when a vehicle cannot start and can't move, usually due to a discharged (dead) battery. In the event that a vehicle cannot be started or achieve “ready-on”, wheel dollies must be used to allow the vehicle to be rolled and moved. NOTE: The following procedure is for moving vehicle around the service shop and not for towing purposes. Please reference the owner's manual for towing instructions.

When inspected, the differential or PTO oil is dark or black. This is considered normal and NO repair should be performed. During production, differential ring and pinion gears receive a manganese phosphate coating (commonly referred to as black oxide). This coating forms a porous, oil-retentive surface that improves boundary lubrication and reduces adhesive wear during initial contact cycles. Designed as a sacrificial layer, it is gradually removed under load throughout the break-in process. As a result, after the first few hundred miles, or at the initial gear oil service interval, the lubricant may appear darkened by the worn-off coating. It will contain trace ferrous particles from the normal run-in of the gear teeth and bearing surfaces. This condition is expected and does not, by itself, indicate an issue with the differential or PTO gears.

A New Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF-A7) is being used for some 2023-2026 models. ATF-A7 is an extremely low viscosity formulation with low friction to achieve best-in-class fuel economy and driving performance. For easy identification, ATF-A7 is colored Red and ATF-FZ is colored Blue. ATF-A7 includes UV-reactive dye (see "Fluorescence Example" below). There is NO interchangeability between ATF-A7 and ATF-FZ. For CX-30, Mazda3, and CX-5, some 2.5L and all 2.5T engines still use ATF-FZ. Verify the type of ATF according to what is in MGSS (TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE TECHNICAL DATA) or what is marked on the dipstick (see "ATF-A7 Identification" below).

Some vehicles may exihibit a vibration in the accelerator pedal and steering wheel when accelerating during a sharp left-hand turn. An abnormal noise may also be heard from the footwell area. This may be caused by insufficient clearance between the engine mount stopper rubber and the engine mount bracket. Customer may state: - Vehicle shudders/vibrates on left turns, most often when accelerating from a stop or entering a driveway. - They feel a pop or grind in the accelerator pedal when the vibration occurs. - They hear a rumbling or grinding noise, mainly from the right side, during the left-turn shudder. NOTE: The condition does not occur at shallow steering angles or when the vehicle is stationary and the steering effort remains unchanged when the vibration and noise are present.

Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) Diagnostic Guidelines Diagnostic Guidelines When diagnosing NVH concerns, it is essential to first classify the issue into one of three primary categories: Noise, Vibration, or Harshness. Many customer complaints may involve overlapping symptoms, such as both noise and vibration, so identifying the dominant characteristic is critical. Once the primary symptom is determined, follow the appropriate diagnostic path. For example, if a concern includes both noise and vibration but is related to vehicle speed, the vibration diagnostic path should be followed. When considering component replacement during the diagnostic process, it is best practice to start with the lowest cost or most accessible part unless diagnostic evidence clearly identifies a more expensive or complex component as the root cause. This approach helps minimize repair costs and avoids unnecessary part replacements. For example, a growling or bearing whine noise may be mistakenly attributed to internal components in the differential, transfer unit, or transmission, when the actual source is a wheel bearing. Misdiagnosis like this can lead to unnecessary repairs, added time and cost. To help prevent this, always follow the guidelines in the repair procedure.

Some customers may complain about a rattle or vibration noise coming from front map light surroundings when driving on a rough road. This may be caused by the bracket for the map light. Due to heat or vibrations, the fastener fixing the front map light to the bracket may deform, making the joint loose. In such case, when the vehicle bounces, the bracket may oscillate and produce a rattling noise. To eliminate that concern, non-woven fabric will be attached to the headliner.

Some vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage such (melted, separating, etc.) when parked near a glass building or Low-E windows. This may be caused by the sun's reflection. If a structure's windows create enough of a curve, the concave glass can focus the sun's rays onto a small area and acting like magnifiying glass direct the sunbeams into a hot pinpoint of light. This magnifcation of the sun's rays can cause damage to vehicle trim (see examples). Additional information and exemplar images regarding this phenomenon can be found by performing a google search.

While driving on gravel or dusty roads, dust accumulates at the lower inner edge of the door garnish.
