CSP14 – 2024-2026 CX-90 Subject: Mazda Rear Brake Pad Customer Service Program Limited Warranty Extension – (CSP14 – CX-90 models) - Phase 1 Mailing – May 2026 In late April we announced two Customer Service Programs (CSP14 & CSP15) where certain vehicles are covered under these two Limited Warranty Extensions, (defined as “Covered Vehicle”); 2024-2026 CX-90 (CSP14) and 2025-2026 CX-70 (CSP15) produced November 18, 2025 and prior. Owner Notification: We are pleased to announce the first phase of Owner Letters will mail on May 29, 2026, to approximately 18,000 owners in campaign CSP14. As stated in our prior communication, we will send subsequent dealer emails with future phased mailings planned throughout Summer 2026. We have also released the Repair Procedure under TSB 04-003/26, the Parts & Warranty information and updated all dealer-facing FAQ documents. ATTENTION ALL DEALERS - Vehicles to be repaired: Due to limited parts supply only the vehicles in this notice can be repaired. To help your Mazda dealer staff identify which vehicles can be repaired we have created an Excel-based VIN look-up tool in Mazda Global Service Support (MGSS) under this campaign. Please enter the VIN in the tool if the customer does not have their parts available letter to confirm the vehicle can be repaired under this CSP. At this time, remaining customers in CSP14 and CSP15 must wait to receive notice that parts are available. Key Benefits of the Customer Service Program-Extended Warranty Coverage for Rear Brake Squeal: Mazda is expanding the standard brake pad coverage from 1-year/12,000 miles to 3-years/36,000 miles to cover repairs related to rear brake squeal. The owner is eligible for a one‑time replacement of redesigned rear brake pads at no cost if the brake squeal symptom matches a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) which will be published prior to sending the Second notification. The redesigned brake pads will be covered under the vehicle’s original 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, or 1 year/12,000 miles from installation whichever provides longer coverage.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red. 07-002/26 06/16/26 and 06/10/26 DESCRIPTION Some customers may complain that the A/C does not cool. This concern may be due to an internal short circuit in the A/C compressor, caused by an overcurrent. On some vehicles, the A/C high-voltage fuse opens and DTC P0D6D and/or U0605 are stored. To eliminate this concern, the electrical circuit of the A/C compressor has been modified to prevent a short circuit even if an overcurrent occurs. Replace the A/C compressor with an updated one according to the procedure in MGSS (ELECTRIC COMPRESSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [e-SKYACTIV PHEV]).

DESCRIPTION Some customers may experience ATF seepage from the High-Voltage (HV) motor terminal area. If ATF seepage is confirmed at this location, one or more of the following conditions may occur: ATF is leaking from the HV cable. ATF is leaking from the inverter connection. This is caused by through-hole porosity generated during manufacturing of the intermediate terminal block (busbar), allowing oil to seep from the component. To eliminate this concern, an Impregnation treatment (a sealing process in which resin, oil, or other liquids are infused into minute internal voids in the material, such as porosity, pinholes, or cracks) is applied to the aluminum plate portion of the busbar. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Verify the customer concern. 2. Replace the busbar with a new one.

Some vehicles may exhibit a squeaking noise from the rear brake during deceleration, and the noise is particularly noticeable during braking when the brakes are cold. This is caused by the brake pad(s) having difficulty contacting evenly with the rotor surface during light braking due to wear and/or deformation of the brake pad(s). To eliminate this concern, the shape of the rear brake pads will be modified. Replace both sides of the rear brake pads with the modified ones according to the instructions in MGSS (REAR BRAKE DISC PAD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red. 09-031/25 08/05/25 DESCRIPTION While driving on gravel or dusty roads, dust accumulates at the lower inner edge of the door garnish. When the rear door is opened, the dust may be blown up and enter the cabin, adhering to the seats and the floor. This is caused by a large gap at the lower part of the boundary between the rear door and the front door, and air containing dust and/or sand is sucked up into the gap, accumulating at the lower edge of the rear door garnish while driving. To eliminate this concern, a mass production change is under study. NOTE: In environments where passengers frequently enter and exit the vehicle under dusty conditions (e.g. dirt or gravel roads, off-road driving), a certain amount of dust will enter into the cabin, even in other types of vehicles. Therefore, this phenomenon is not limited to the causes described in this document. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. NOTE: This repair procedure is an interim countermeasure. After a mass production change is implemented, the repair procedure will be updated. Attach the protectors (urethane pads, deflectors and protectors) to both sides of the designated locations according to the following steps.

This SA supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s) listed below. The changes are noted below in Red. SA-007/25 10/22/25, 06/02/25 and 02/03/25 DESCRIPTION The Mazda DCA-8000 is required for all warranty battery testing. If the Mazda DCA-8000 is not used, incorrect battery testing may result in unnecessary battery replacement. Use the following test procedures in this Service Bulletin to test Mazda vehicle batteries and to generate a Warranty Code. NOTE: A Warranty Code is required for warranty claim submission Battery Identification (Mazda batteries have 2 rating types) 1. JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard): JIS codes are six-digit alpha-numeric markings (excluding i-STOP batteries e.g. Q-85, S-95) molded into the top of the battery to identify a battery by the capacity (amps), dimensions, and battery terminal type. Vehicles manufactured in Japan come from the factory with a JIS rated battery. NOTE: Replacement batteries may use a CCA rating. If so, use the CCA rating listed on the battery. 2. CCA (Cold Cranking Amps): CCA ratings are normally located on a sticker affixed to the top of the battery to indicate a battery’s Cold Cranking Amps. CCA rated batteries are supplied with domestically produced vehicles. NOTE: If an incorrect CCA rating is entered into the Mazda DCA-8000, it will result in a false result and invalid Warranty Code from the tester. This will also result in unnecessary replacement of batteries. TEST PROCEDURE 1. Connect the charger clamps to the appropriate battery posts.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

This Service Alert supersedes the previously issued SA(s) and TSB(s) listed below: The changes are noted in Red. SA-035/24 05/31/24 DESCRIPTION There is a concern that some water pumps are being replaced that are not faulty, due to signs of a very small coolant leak from the bleed hole. This Service Alert is to inform you about the water pump sealing mechanism and the criteria if replacement is necessary or not. A mechanical seal (A) is used for the water pump. This mechanical seal can seal coolant (B) by sliding a mating ring (C) against a seal ring (D). When the sliding surface temperature of the mechanical seal is more than 248 °F (120 °C) while driving, a small amount of steam (E) is leaked and bleeds through the bleeding hole (F). After drying, the steam leaves a green coolant deposit near the water pump bleed hole (F). This is a normal condition and does not require water pump replacement. The water pump should only be replaced if there is an accumulation of crystallized coolant near the bleed hole. When you encounter a water pump with coolant seepage marks, decide to replace it or not based on the following criteria using sample photos. NOTE: During the initial period of use*, the sliding surfaces of the seals may not yet be fully settled, which can temporarily increase the amount of leakage. Continued use will allow the surfaces to settle, reducing the leakage. Replacing parts that are already settled with new ones will increase the leakage again until the new parts become conditioned. Therefore, replacement should be avoided in this initial period of use. *As a guideline, this applies to vehicles with less than 1,860 miles (3000 km) of mileage.

Some vehicles may exhibit an interference between the front (1) and the rear door bright window glass molding (2) due to the bright window glass molding shifting backward when opening/closing the front door. This is caused by an inappropriate position of the positioning tab on the front door glass run-channel. To eliminate this concern, double-sided tape has been added to the front door glass run-channel, and the shape of the rear end of the front door glass run-channel has been modified to prevent the bright window glass molding from shifting. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Verify the customer concern. 2. Replace the front glass run-channel(s) with a modified one(s) according to the instructions in MGSS (FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN-CHANNEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION). NOTE: Repair only the side with the issue. ATTENTION: Removing the front beltline moldings is unnecessary for this repair procedure when replacing the front door glass run-channel. 3. Verify the repair.

There are currently 2 methods for cutting a new auxiliary key blank. A. Auxiliary Key Trace Cut Method • B. Auxiliary Key Code Cut Method 2019 and newer models require a 10-digit key code to accurately cut keys • 5-digit codes CANNOT be provided for 2019 and newer vehicles (the traditional 5-digit code from the key tag or driver's door lock cylinder is not sufficient and will not be issued for key cutting on these models). • Only Mazda-approved key cutting machines can process these 10-digit codes. • Many older key machines do not support 10-digit codes and cannot be updated to do so. In these cases, dealers will need to purchase one of the newer Mazda-approved key cutting machines capable of handling this requirement. • For a list of current Mazda-approved machines and purchasing options, refer to the Mazda Dealer Equipment Program or view the current Mazda approved key machines below.

When inspected, the differential or PTO oil is dark or black. This is considered normal and NO repair should be performed. During production, differential ring and pinion gears receive a manganese phosphate coating (commonly referred to as black oxide). This coating forms a porous, oil-retentive surface that improves boundary lubrication and reduces adhesive wear during initial contact cycles. Designed as a sacrificial layer, it is gradually removed under load throughout the break-in process. As a result, after the first few hundred miles, or at the initial gear oil service interval, the lubricant may appear darkened by the worn-off coating. It will contain trace ferrous particles from the normal run-in of the gear teeth and bearing surfaces. This condition is expected and does not, by itself, indicate an issue with the differential or PTO gears.

There have been warranty claims submitted for growling or bearing whine noise in differentials, transfer units and transmissions where the source of the noise was a wheel bearing. To reduce the chance of this occurring, please follow the steps outlined in the repair procedure.

Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) Diagnostic Guidelines Diagnostic Guidelines When diagnosing NVH concerns, it is essential to first classify the issue into one of three primary categories: Noise, Vibration, or Harshness. Many customer complaints may involve overlapping symptoms, such as both noise and vibration, so identifying the dominant characteristic is critical. Once the primary symptom is determined, follow the appropriate diagnostic path. For example, if a concern includes both noise and vibration but is related to vehicle speed, the vibration diagnostic path should be followed. When considering component replacement during the diagnostic process, it is best practice to start with the lowest cost or most accessible part unless diagnostic evidence clearly identifies a more expensive or complex component as the root cause. This approach helps minimize repair costs and avoids unnecessary part replacements. For example, a growling or bearing whine noise may be mistakenly attributed to internal components in the differential, transfer unit, or transmission, when the actual source is a wheel bearing. Misdiagnosis like this can lead to unnecessary repairs, added time and cost. To help prevent this, always follow the guidelines in the repair procedure.

All Mazda dealers must quarantine any affected new, used or CPO in-stock vehicles until the repair is completed. The affected dealer inventory list was provided to each District Service Manager with the notification of this dealer email. Once completed, the car can be delivered, and the Warranty claim can be submitted later without penalty since the car has been repaired. To All Mazda Dealers: Failure to properly perform any recall repair is a direct violation of Paragraph 14(F) of the Dealer Agreement and can cause one or more of the following: Mechanical breakdown or failure, crash or injury, Dealership penalties/fines by Mazda and CARB/EPA, increased liability risk for the dealership, Missed Recall penalties, loss of customer trust and a poor Customer Experience. Concern Outline: All vehicles can be repaired immediately upon receipt of this Mazda Dealer announcement by following the repair and warranty claiming procedures housed in Mazda Global Service Support (MGSS). On certain subject vehicles, during normal driving, a temporary decrease in insulation resistance may be detected, which could be mistakenly judged as an electric leakage, causing the hybrid system warning light to turn on and the leakage detection message to be displayed. The DTC P0AA6:00 may be stored in memory. In such a condition, once the vehicle power is switched off, it may become impossible to restart the vehicle due to fail-safe mode activation. Repair Outline: Reprogram the PCM with the Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS), using Mazda Diagnostic and Repair Software (MDARS). The DTC code that may appear is P0AA6:00 - High voltage insulation malfunction: Decrease in vehicle insulation resistance. The software update will re-calibrate electrical leakage detection criteria and allow vehicle re-start. Legitimate electrical leakage faults can still be detected and store DTC P0AA6:00. If DTC P0AA6:00 - High voltage insulation malfunction: Decrease in vehicle insulation resistance is still present after repair of the 7325C Recall, please diagnose the issue using the Workshop Manual or search for a current Technical Service Bulletin.

Some vehicles may exhibit wiper blade contact with the A-pillar trim, with or without a chattering noise. This condition may be caused by worn or contaminated wiper blades. It can also be caused by bent wiper arms, or loose wiper arm retaining nuts due to improper handling. Improper handling occurs when pulling on or forcing the wiper arms. Technicians should be aware that while replacement of the wiper blade may resolve some cases, correction of bent components or repositioning of the wiper arms, particularly when the retaining nut is loose, requires additional steps to ensure proper alignment and function.

Due to a manufacturing change, the CX-70/CX-90 transmission has undergone a transmission part design change when replacing the transmission assembly. Old design originally required a coolant line running to the top of the bell housing, the new design has omitted the hole and need for the coolant line. The new/superseded design can be used in place of the old/original design, and the coolant hose with fitting is no longer needed.
