According to an amended ruling in the visual inspection labeling requirement in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 304, the periodic inspection interval for compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel containers has been modified to “at least every 12 months.” McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing will support this change by updating safety decals and installing these new decals when a vehicle is inspected by McNeilus CNG technicians, and by answering questions regarding this periodic inspection interval update and how McNeilus will support it.

McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing offers these instructions for the installation of a new streetside cover panel with thumb latch on the doors and a new curbside cover panel with doors (having doors on panel is a new feature for the curbside cover panel) on compressed national gas (CNG) tailgate units. By installing these new cover panels, technicians will easily be able to gain access to inspect the CNG tanks by using thumb latches on the streetside and the new doors on the curbside of the unit.

On the Meridian Front Loader, during performance issues such as slow functions, packing light loads, inability to lift heavy cans, it is recommended to inspect the O-rings on the sequencing valves. The sequencing valve O-rings may be experiencing premature failure and may begin to be unable to maintain its seal. These instructions discuss when and how to inspect the O-ring to determine if the O-ring is failing.

These instructions are for installing tailgate lock cylinders on the Meridian (78) and Atlantic Series® (29) front end loaders. Replacing the tailgate lock cylinders may help reduce issues of the tailgate not locking and not unlocking. The existing cylinder has a 2.625? OD, while the new cylinder has a 2.875? OD.
