Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

It has been determined that certain McNeilus Zero Radius side loader refuse vehicles may have a hydraulic pressure spike that may cause premature failure to the fan cooler. The fan cooler may be permanently bypassed by following the instructions in this informational bulletin to bypass the fan cooler with a hydraulic hose allowing the refuse body functions to remain functional.

According to an amended ruling in the visual inspection labeling requirement in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 304, the periodic inspection interval for compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel containers has been modified to âat least every 12 months.â McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing will support this change by updating safety decals and installing these new decals when a vehicle is inspected by McNeilus CNG technicians, and by answering questions regarding this periodic inspection interval update and how McNeilus will support it.

McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing offers these instructions for the installation of a new streetside cover panel with thumb latch on the doors and a new curbside cover panel with doors (having doors on panel is a new feature for the curbside cover panel) on compressed national gas (CNG) tailgate units. By installing these new cover panels, technicians will easily be able to gain access to inspect the CNG tanks by using thumb latches on the streetside and the new doors on the curbside of the unit.
