Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
Throttle lift-off clunking noises at drive shafts of rear axle
Vehicle report
Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

The trunk lid sometimes does not open completely and does not close (completely). This complaint is accompanied by the following symptoms: - Illumination of the trunk lid control button (S62/26) fails. - The ACTUAL value* of the trunk lid lock main catch switch (A85/5s1) indicates "closed" although the trunk lid is open. - Knocking against the trunk lid lock (A85/5) causes the light of the trunk lid control button (S62/26) to flicker and the ACTUAL value* of the trunk lid lock main catch switch (A85/5s1) to jump back and forth between the values "open" and closed". * The ACTUAL value of the trunk lid lock main catch switch (A85/5s1) can be found under the following path in Xentry Diagnostics: Xentry Diagnostics => Control unit => SAM-H (N10/8) => ACTUAL values => Trunk lid => Trunk lid lock main catch switch

FC 2783 (Friction power of torque converter lockup clutch is too high) or FC 0741 (Actuation of torque converter lockup clutch not possible) stored in transmission control unit. One possible additional customer complaint could be "poor acceleration" e.g. due to engine intervention. This can affect all NAT2FE+ (7G-TRONIC PLUS) vehicles with engines OM651, OM642LS and M278 in the production period from 04/2011 to 02/2012 and with more than 10,000 km. The two fault codes can also occur in combination with rpm sensor faults (see also GI27.50-P-035556). The rpm sensor fault is not connected with this complaint.
LI82 95-P-056655
Customer experiences low battery conditions, resulting in jump starts, and eventually requiring battery replacement.
LI33.30-P-056665
Single, throttle lift-off, clunking noise from the side shaft when starting off (audible at the wheel). The clunk is heard once when changing from forward to reverse (and vice versa).
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
