If all three fail, the pixel will appear as a permanent black dot. SAFETY BELT WARNING GONG SOUNDS AFTER UNBUCKLING WHILE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. After a vehicle has been programmed to an I-level greater than 19-11-5xx and lower than I-level 20-03-530; the safety belt (aka seat belt) acoustic warning sounds when in Park (engine running) and the safety belt is unbuckled. The chime/gong lasts for up to 1 minute 40 seconds. The customer only expects the acoustic warning when the vehicle is moving and the safety belt is not buckled. XM Satellite Radio Reception. INFORMATION Currently Satellite Radio is provided by SiriusXM for MINI customers. SiriusXM is the only company currently broadcasting Satellite Radio in North America. Satellite radio was broadcast from two different sets of Satellites using different earth orbits. XM uses geosynchronous (GEO) satellites located roughly above the equator. This means that the satellite signal to some parts of the United States can come in at an angle as low as 32 degrees to the horizon. This is different than Sirius Satellites in a Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO) which came in to the vehicle at a higher angle to the horizon. As of April 2016 Sirius equipped head units moved to the XM Satellites constellation and now show the same location based cutouts.

Air Conditioning Refrigerant R1234yf Introduction. INFORMATION Several precautions need to be observed when working on automotive air conditioning systems: Always wear eye protection and gloves while handling refrigerant or servicing air conditioning system. Avoid breathing R1234yf lubricant vapor or mist. Use only approved service equipment to discharge A/C systems. If refrigerant or compressor oil contacts the skin or eyes, large quantities of cool water should be used to flush the affected area. Never heat a refrigerant container with an open flame. Keep all refrigerant away from open flames. Under no circumstances should R1234yf service equipment or vehicle A/C systems be pressure tested or leak tested with air/R1234yf mixtures. NOTE: The use of compressed air (shop air) for leak detection in an R1234yf system can contaminate the system and/or refrigerant with moisture. Leak detection equipment that meets the SAE J2791 standard will work with R1234yf Never use fittings for an R12 or R134a system on an R1234yf system. Any difficulty in connecting service equipment may be an indication of refrigerant/equipment incompatibility with the vehicle's system. Always carefully ascertain the type of refrigerant used in the vehicle's system before performing service. Labels on underside of hood, will detail which refrigerant is used in the air conditioning system. Service the vehicle with compatible recycling equipment ONLY. Attempts to adapt and use incompatible service tools will destroy both the vehicle's air conditioning system and the service tool. Never use any R-12/R134a service tools on R1234yf systems. Tools, such as manifold gauge sets, retain small amounts of refrigerant and lubricant. Attempting to use the same equipment on both R-12/R134a and R1234yf vehicles will contaminate the air conditioning systems. Obtain and use the correct type of refrigerant recovery/recycling machine. Service Action: Program Control Units (DME - VANOS). If the engine has been off for long period of time, when started it may run very rough at idle with the Service Engine Soon (MIL) light on. The engine power is reduced and a Check Control Message (CCM) "Drive Faulty; Drive at moderate speed" is also displayed. If the engine is then stopped and restarted the problem would no longer be present.

VANOS Faults Stored in DME (Bosch). The Service Engine Soon (MIL) is on and the engine could go into a reduced power mode with the "Drivetrain Malfunction" message displayed. One or more of the VANOS faults (listed in the attachment) are stored in the DME, although the engine is mechanically sound and no unusual noises can be heard from the VANOS area. Due to unfavorable Engine Position Management (EPM) parameters in the DME software, various VANOS control faults could be set. These control faults relate to implausible camshaft position (intake or exhaust), the camshaft stuck situation, or the camshaft angle offset to crankshaft outside the tolerance range.
