Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Check for proper torque of all mounting bolts on all electric slideout motors. If any bolt is under- torqued, remove the bolt, and add blue LOCTITE® thread sealant to the bolt threads. If there is no washer on the nut side of the bolt, add a flat washer. Reinstall and torque all 5/16â bolts to 19 ft. lbs. and all 3/8â bolts to 33 ft. lbs.

Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motorhomes. Issue: On certain motorhomes, there may be a loose electrical connection to the automatic transfer switch (ATS) that was not properly tightened. If the power connection is loose, it may result in a buildup of heat at the connection, which may increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property.

Daimler Trucks North America has issued field service campaign SF543A. In response, Newmar is publishing TSB 493. Issue: On specific vehicles equipped with Stoneridge light bar control units (LBCU), the instrument panel odometer value may reset and no longer match the engine ECU odometer value.

Newmar Corporation has decided that certain coaches built on a Freightliner chassis and equipped with Equalizer leveling jacks may have air bags that do not inflate correctly during jack retraction, which could cause air depletion from the air bags. Issue: Equalizer recommends starting the coach and allowing the chassis air pressure to build before pressing the ?All Retract? button to ensure adequate air supply to the chassis air valves. Failure to start the engine and pressurize the air system may contribute to the improper inflation of the air suspension system. Do not drive the unit without the air suspension system fully inflated. If for any reason the suspension is deflated, operate the ?All Retract? function on the jack panel while the coach is parked with the air tanks at full pressure.

Mailing second notice on not corrected customer letters on NHTSA Recall: Newmar Corporation has decided a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motor homes. On certain motorhomes built on Freightliner Chassis, the front rims maximum rating is 120 PSI, which is lower than the Michelin tires? maximum inflation rating of 130 PSI. NHTSA# 16v 055, TC# 2016-045 Issue: Inflation of tire beyond the manufacturer?s maximum rim rating may increase the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property.

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation, has initiated Field Service Campaign SF536A to modify specific Freightliner Custom Chassis X-line motorhome and shuttle bus chassis equipped with multiplex wiper controls, manufactured March 21, 2016, through January 2, 2017. In response, Newmar Corporation published TSB 485 to inform our dealers and customers. Issue: On some vehicles, the windshield wiper intermittent delay function is incorrectly set to a fixed delay.

THIS RECALL IS THE RESULT OF INFORMATION PROVIDED TO NEWMAR BY DAIMLER TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA. NHTSA#16V 270, TC# 2016-262 ON CERTAIN MOTORHOMES, THE FRONT SWAY BAR MOUNTING BRACKET MAY NOT FIT ON THE AXLE MOUNTING SURFACE CORRECTLY. THIS COULD CAUSE THE MOUNTING BOLTS TO BEND OR BECOME LOOSE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE SWAY BAR POSSIBLY DETACHING, POTENTIALLY AFFECTING VEHICLE HANDLING AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH CAUSING INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

FLEXSTEEL HAS INFORMED NEWMAR CORPORATION THAT A KIT NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED ON BI-FOLD PULL OUT SOFA SLEEPERS (SSCS) TO PREVENT RETENTION CABLES FROM GETTING PINCHED IN THE HINGE. IF A CABLE GETS PINCHED IN THE HINGE, DAMAGE MAY OCCUR TO THE SOFA CABLE. IF BOTH CABLES ARE DETACHED, BROKEN, OR DEFECTIVE, AND ONLY ONE PERSON IS ON THE BED LYING CLOSEST TO THE SOFA BACK/WALL OF THE COACH, THE UNIT MAY PIVOT AND POTENTIALLY PLACE THE OCCUPANT ON THE FLOOR OR BETWEEN THE BED AND THE BACK OF THE SOFA.

THIS TSB IS CREATED TO NOTIFY DEALERS OF A CHANGE ITC MADE TO THE LEAD SOLDER IN THE RECESSED LIGHTING TO MAKE IT MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY. THIS CHANGE CAUSED AN ISSUE IN ITCS LED RECESSED LIGHTS WITH A MANUFACTURED DATE CODES IN THE RANGE OF NOVEMBER 2014 TO MARCH 2015. LIGHTS MAY PREMATURELY QUIT WORKING OR ONLY HAVE A PORTION OF LEDS WORKING WITHIN EACH LIGHT FIXTURE.
