This bulletin lists the criteria and provides an application form for such replacements. · The “VIN Plate/Label” (metal plate or vinyl label) is attached to the instrument panel or body on the driver side at the base of the windshield (see Figure 1). · The “Certification Label” (vinyl adhesive label) is located on the lower area of the driver side B-Pillar (see Figure 1).

AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING WARNING LIGHT BLINKING APPLIED SYSTEMS: Vehicles equipped with a lane camera (see Figure 1) SERVICE INFORMATION If the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) warning light or is blinking (but not illuminated steadily) or the customer states it is blinking, and there are no related DTCs, inspect the windshield. A blinking AEB warning light may occur under the following conditions:  When contamination or foreign material adhere to the lane camera viewing window on the windshield.  When driving while it is snowing or when frost forms on the lane camera viewing window on the windshield.  When the lane camera viewing window on the windshield is temporarily fogged up. TELEMATICS CONTROL UNIT RESET AFTER AUTOMATIC COLLISION NOTIFICATION This bulletin has been amended. See AMENDMENT HISTORY on the last page. Please discard previous versions of this bulletin. SERVICE INFORMATION The Telematics Control Unit (TCU) has the ability to send an automatic collision notification when the vehicle is involved in an accident. Once an automatic collision notification is performed, the function becomes disabled and the TCU must be reset to re-enable the automatic collision notification function. Some models will store DTC B2E1B-97 for “Automatic eCAll locked” as “CURRENT” when this function is disabled. This bulletin describes how to reset the TCU after an automatic collision notification has been performed. For models with B2E1B-97 for “Automatic eCAll locked” set as “CURRENT”, complete the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2, and then erase DTCs after confirming the TCU condition is “UNLOCK”.

SERVICE INFORMATION The APPLIED VEHICLES that come equipped with a factory installed SOS switch, located near the overhead map lamp, also come equipped with a wireless communication device called a Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). With an active NissanConnect® Services subscription, the TCU communicates with the Nissan Data Center to provide various security and convenience services. CONSULT has been updated to allow DTC B2E01-96 for “Internal battery” to be cleared in the TCU. If DTC B2E01-96 is Current/Active in the TCU, and no additional Current/Active DTCs are present in the TCU, perform the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2.

Transfer Case Range Sensor Voluntary Service Campaign *****Dealer Announcement***** Nissan is conducting a service campaign on certain specific MY2023 Nissan Frontier and Titan vehicles identified in Service Comm and National Service History – Open Campaigns. Due to a manufacturing concern that has since been corrected, the 4WD system on affected vehicles may malfunction resulting in disablement of the 4WD system and owners may notice warning messages and lamps illuminated of ATP, 4WD, ABS, VDC, AEB, RAB and others. Dealers will remedy the vehicle by replacing the transfer case range sensor. *****What Dealers Should Do***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this service campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History – Open Campaigns I.D. PC984 • New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign).  Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information • Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign applicability. 2. If a retailed vehicle affected by this Campaign ID visits the dealer for service, the dealer should inform the customer about the service campaign and communicate that the transfer case range sensor will be replaced free of charge. 3. 12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect “Test with DCA” and “Replace” results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT:  CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000  CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/  DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/  DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. To avoid the risk of death or severe personal injury, do not directly spray Silicone-based lubricant or grease, or inadvertently overspray Silicone-based lubricant or grease onto any interior electrical components. Trailer Hitch Owner’s Manual Supplement & Label Voluntary Service Campaign *****Dealer Announcement***** Nissan is conducting a service campaign (PC928) to provide owners of certain 2022 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab SV Long Wheel Base vehicles with a supplement to be placed with the Owner’s Manual and a warning label to be applied to the trailer hitch. In addition, under service campaign (PC975), Nissan will provide owners of certain 2022-2023 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab SV Long Wheel Base vehicles with a supplement to be placed with the Owner’s Manual (Note: these hitches were previously labeled and these owners do NOT require a warning label for the trailer hitch). The information contained in the Owner’s Manual supplement revises or adds to the “Towing a Trailer”, Towing Safety”, “Trailer hitch” and “Class IV hitch” sections of the “Technical and consumer information” section of the Owner’s Manual. The supplement and the label will remind current and future operators that the trailer hitch should not be removed or replaced. *****What Dealers Should Do***** 1. If a dealer receives a supplemental Owner’s Manual addendum for a vehicle they have retailed, currently have in their new vehicle or pre-owned inventory, or a Nissan Rental Car (NRC), the dealer should either forward the owner’s manual addendum to the current owner or add the addendum to the Owner’s Manual in the glove box of any affected vehicle they currently control.

MANUAL SEAT TRACK ADJUSTMENT DOES NOT LOCK INTO POSITION IF YOU CONFIRM The seat track latching pawls for a front seat (left or right) are not synchronized.  The inboard track latches, but the outboard track does not latch unless the seat is pushed/pulled into position. HINT: The customer may report the following if this issue should occur:  The seat track seems loose when braking or accelerating.  The seat track is difficult to lock in place.  After adjusting the seat track, it shifts/locks into place while driving. ACTION Adjust/synchronize the outboard seat track following the SERVICE PROCEDURE in this bulletin.

With an active NissanConnect® Services subscription, the TCU communicates with the Nissan Data Center to provide various security and convenience services. 1. When diagnosing DTC B2E1B-06 (AUTOMATIC ECALL) on an APPLIED VEHICLE:  If DTC B2E1B-06 is not “CRNT” in the IVC, DO NOT replace the TCU. Erase the DTC. Tire Replacement *****Dealer Announcement***** Nissan is updating the temporary Quality Assurance hold (PC972) on 723 specific 2023 Nissan Titan and Frontier vehicles identified in Service Comm to a dealer inventory Quality Action to replace all five (5) tires (including spare tire). Due to a manufacturing issue, which since has been corrected, the bead area of tires on affected vehicles may have been sliced during mounting, which could allow the rubber to separate from the bead steel reinforcement and potentially lead to tire rupture. Nissan’s investigation into this mounting issue is continuing at this time. Affected vehicles are subject to stop sale and are either currently in dealer inventory or assigned and in transit to the dealer. *****What Dealers Should Do***** PLEASE FOLLOW THE ATTACHED INSPECTION INSTRUCTIONS: 1. SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR INFOTAINMENT ISSUES SERVICE INFORMATION When diagnosing an infotainment issue or after replacement of the AV Control Unit, it is necessary to verify the current software version of the AV Control Unit to determine if a software version update is required. Use the vehicle tables in this bulletin to determine the current software version, if the AV Control Unit requires a software version update, and which procedure to use to update the AV Control Unit. The software updates in this bulletin are to address stability improvements and “bug” fixes. IMPORTANT: If the customer is experiencing a software related concern, refer to NTB21-038 to verify if the customer concern is a hardware or software related issue. If the concern is a software related issue, review the information in this bulletin to update the AV Control Unit as needed.

DIAGNOSING DOOR LOCK OPERATION SERVICE INFORMATION If a customer describes a concern of a door not opening and/or unlocking properly, on any of the APPLIED VEHICLES, use the Questions for the Customer below to help reproduce the concern, and then follow the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2 to determine if the Door Lock should be replaced.  Do not replace a Door Lock unless instructed to by the SERVICE PROCEDURE. Questions for the Customer:  When did you first notice the issue?  Is it consistent or intermittent?  Under what conditions does it occur?  Does it seem more likely to happen to a specific passenger/person in your family?  Has there been any change to the issue since it first began?

INFOTAINMENT CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION When replacing an AV Control Unit (Infotainment Control Unit), for any reason, all three steps below are required. If all three steps are not completed on vehicles equipped with a TCU, the Over The Air (OTA) updates will not work, and other functions may be inoperative. HINT: Not all APPLIED VEHICLES are OTA-update capable. 1. Reprogram the AV control unit. 2. Configure the AV control unit. 3. Write the VIN to the AV control unit. IMPORTANT: Steps 1-3 above must be performed in the sequential order shown below.

DRIVE SHAFT BOOT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION If a Drive Shaft (Axle Shaft) Boot on an APPLIED VEHICLE is found to be leaking grease, AND There is no abnormal noise or obvious CV Joint risk due to water intrusion and/or complete grease loss, check for REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) availability.  If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the dealer.  If there is NOT a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. IMPORTANT: When servicing vehicles with staked axle nuts, refer to NTB21-013 to prevent Drive Shaft thread damage.

NOISE AND/OR VIBRATION FROM FRONT OR REAR PROPELLER SHAFT SERVICE INFORMATION If you confirm abnormal noise and/or vibration is coming from the front or rear propeller shaft of an APPLIED VEHICLE, inspect the propeller shaft journals (U-Joints) for binding and/or abnormal noise before replacing the propeller shaft. If binding and/or abnormal noise is confirmed from the propeller shaft U-Joints, replace the propeller shaft U-Joints. Refer to the ESM for the propeller shaft U-Joint replacement procedure. NOTE: Replacement of the propeller shaft due to noise and/or vibration caused by the propeller shaft U-Joints may result in warranty charge back.

DRIVER’S POWER SEAT RECLINES UNINTENTIONALLY SERVICE INFORMATION Refer to the information in this bulletin when diagnosing a customer concern of the driver’s (LH) power seat recline position changing unintentionally on a 2022-2023 Frontier. Not all customer concerns mean there are broken or malfunctioning parts. Use this information to help explain normal operation to the vehicle owner. The driver’s seat recline switch (Figure 1) can be bumped when exiting/entering the vehicle (Figure 2), resulting in unintentional recline of the seat upper. Do not replace the side finisher/switch unless visible damage to the seat switch is present.
