Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

CAMPAIGN BULLETIN CVT Warranty Extension In an effort to assure customer satisfaction, demonstrate our confidence in continuously variable transmissions (CVTs), and to address customer concerns including those expressed by customers in a class action, Nissan will extend the warranty coverage on the CVT. The warranty extension includes the CVT assembly and internal CVT components, gaskets, and seals, CVT control valve body, torque converter, cooler kit (if applicable), Automatic Transmission Control Unit (ATCU) and reprogramming of the Transmission Control Module (TCM), on the vehicles listed in this announcement. The warranty is being extended from its original duration of 60 months/60,000 miles to 84 months/84,000 miles (whichever occurs first). Coverage of other vehicle components remains unchanged, and all other terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of Nissan’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty continue to apply. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. If an owner contacts a dealer with a CVT concern in an owned or leased vehicle, verify warranty coverage for the specific VIN and then inform the customer of any diagnostic charges. NOTE: Some owners may have opted out of the warranty extension by excluding themselves from the class action settlement, thus it is important to check the VIN for each vehicle to verify coverage. 2. Use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and/or Electronic Service Manual (ESM) to diagnose the root cause of the customer concern and identify the correct repair to resolve the customer concerns. NOTE: Dealers will need to follow the warranty process and obtain pre-approval using the VCAT tool. Please reference WBI/21-002. Control valves and CVT belt and pulley kits do not require pre-authorization for repairs made under warranty if they are within the dealer’s DCAL limit. 3. CVT warranty coverage can be confirmed using the warranty extensions/customer service initiatives page in Service Comm or DBS National Service History. 4. If the vehicle is no longer covered by a powertrain or parts warranty, provide owners a repair estimate for a test drive, diagnosis, and repair. If an owner requests assistance, be sure to consult goodwill guidelines available in the Assurance Products Resources Manual (APRM) section 2.2 and obtain the necessary approvals before proceeding.

This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. Engine Control Module (ECM) Reprogram California Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign ***** Campaign Summary***** Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign on approximately 104,221 specific Nissan vehicles identified in Service Comm and currently registered to owners in the state of California to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) in the event that a permanent diagnostic trouble code (P-DTC) for P0448, P0101, P2008, or P0087 is recorded in the ECM. Due to calibration errors on the affected vehicles, the ECM may improperly store a permanent diagnostic trouble code (P-DTC) even though the emissions on-board diagnostic system is functioning properly. As of July 1, 2019 the State of California has implemented a revised Inspection Maintenance (I/M) or âSmog Checkâ test program. Without the software update, the subject vehicles may not pass this Smog Check test in those areas of California where such testing is required under state law. This incident has no effect on the safety, performance, drivability, or fuel consumption of the applicable vehicles. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History â Open Campaigns I.D. ï· P9328 â Affected Model Year 2015 ï· P9343 â Affected Model Year 2016 ï· P9345 â Affected Model Year 2017 ï· P9347 â Affected Model Year 2018 ï· P9349 â Affected Model Year 2019 2. Dealers should remedy any affected vehicles in dealer new or pre-owned inventory to ensure customer satisfaction.

2017 MURANO; MID-YEAR CHANGE TO CENTER CONSOLE SERVICE INFORMATION Starting with the applied VIN and date above, 2017 Murano vehicles come equipped with a center console configured differently than 2017 Murano vehicles built prior. Earlier built vehicles came equipped with a removable coin tray while currently built vehicles have the tray molded in as part of the center console assembly. For details, see photos on page 2. For this issue, do not order and replace under warranty a removable tray or complete center console assembly if the vehicle was built on or after the applied VIN and date stated above. This change is not applicable under the Nissan New Vehicle Warranty. These vehicles are built correctly with a molded-in tray and without a removable tray.
