12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect âTest with DCAâ and âReplaceâ results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. Use the vehicle tables in this bulletin to determine the current software version, if the AV Control Unit requires a software version update, and which procedure to use to update the AV Control Unit. The software updates in this bulletin are to address stability improvements and âbugâ fixes. IMPORTANT: If the customer is experiencing a software related concern, refer to NTB21-038 to verify if the customer concern is a hardware or software related issue. DRIVE SHAFT BOOT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION If a Drive Shaft (Axle Shaft) Boot on an APPLIED VEHICLE is found to be leaking grease, AND There is no abnormal noise or obvious CV Joint risk due to water intrusion and/or complete grease loss, check for REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) availability. ï· If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the dealer. ï· If there is NOT a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. IMPORTANT: When servicing vehicles with staked axle nuts, refer to NTB21-013 to prevent Drive Shaft thread damage.

Engine Control Module (ECM) Reprogram Voluntary Emission Recall Campaign Campaign Summary: Nissan is issuing a Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign on specific MY2013-2017 NV200 and MY2014-2017 NYC Taxi vehicles identified in Service Comm and DBS National Service History to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM). Nissan has determined that the software in the Engine Control Module (ECM) may not be calibrated properly. The On Board Diagnostic (OBD) monitor may not detect a manifold catalyst below the efficiency threshold in all circumstances as required by regulation. What Dealers Should Do: 1.Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Emissions Recall using Service Comm or DBS National Service history â Open Campaign I.D. R21B3 â¢New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). ï§Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information â¢Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign applicability. 2.Dealers should use NTB21-105 to remedy any vehicles subject to this campaign. 3.Once remedied, dealers should submit the claim, using the claims coding provided, and release the vehicle.

VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN 2013-2017 NV200 AND 2014-2017 NV200 TAXI; ECM REPROGRAM INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary emissions recall campaign, on certain specific model year 2013-2017 NV200 and 2014-2017 NV200 TAXI vehicles, to reprogram the ECM. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number R21B3 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealerâs responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary emissions recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealerâs inventory. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties. Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed.
