VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN 2017 TITAN XD DIESEL; ENGINE CONTROL MODULE INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary emissions recall campaign on certain specific model year 2017 Titan XD vehicles equipped with a diesel engine, to replace the Engine Control Module (ECM). This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number PD126 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealer’s responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary emissions recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. While federal law applies only to new vehicles, Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed.

12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect âTest with DCAâ and âReplaceâ results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. Therefore, Nissan is extending the emission warranty coverage on MY17 Titan XD Turbo Actuator and High-Pressure Turbocharger to 10 Years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first. All other warranty terms, limitations, and conditions remain unchanged. Certain MY17 TITAN XD Diesel vehicles may experience issues with the Turbo Actuator or the High-Pressure Turbocharger. Over time, a solder crack may develop in the Turbo Actuator and/or carbon build-up is possible on the High-Pressure Turbocharger Compressor. The most likely conditions are a MIL-On with DTC P00AF and/or DTC P0299. These issues have no effect on vehicle safety, drivability, or fuel economy. There could be a decrease in performance if either condition were to occur. During the limited emission warranty extension period, owners are eligible for free replacement of the Turbo Actuator and High-Pressure Turbocharger if either is determined to be required by a Nissan trained technician. Owners of eligible vehicles will receive notification of this limited emission warranty extension during January 2023. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are eligible for this Warranty Extension using the warranty extension page of Service Comm. 2. If a customer contacts the dealer with a Turbo Actuator or High-Pressure Turbocharger concern in an owned or leased vehicle, dealers should use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) to diagnose the root cause of the customer concern and identify the correct repair to resolve the customer concerns.

On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) Voluntary Emission Recall Campaign ***** Campaign Summary ***** Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign on 27,085 certain MY2016-17 Titan Diesel vehicles identified in Service Comm to inspect and, if necessary, reprogram the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) with countermeasure software. Nissan has determined that the subject vehicles were manufactured with an On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) calibration that may not allow the exhaust gas sensor monitors to run as intended. If an affected vehicle is not repaired, the exhaust gas sensor monitors may not run as frequently as required by regulation to determine if the sensor is performing as intended. This issue has no effect on vehicle safety, fuel economy, drivability, or performance. ***** What Dealers Should Do**** 1. Verify campaign applicability using Service Comm or DBS National Service History â Open Campaign I.D. PC731. 2. Dealers should use NTB20-030 to correct any vehicles subject to this campaign. 3. Once repaired, dealers should submit the claim, using the claims coding provided, and release the vehicle.

VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN 2016-2017 TITAN XD WITH DIESEL ENGINE; ENGINE CONTROL MODULE INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary emissions recall campaign on certain specific model year 2016-2017 Titan XD vehicles equipped with a diesel engine. The Engine Control Module (ECM) will be inspected, and reprogrammed if it applies. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number PC731 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealerâs responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary emissions recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealerâs inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a emissions recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties and/or fines by the Environmental Protection Agency. While federal law applies only to new vehicles, Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed.
