As a temporary solution, after PACCAR confirms a DEF sensor is not available, a temporary software update will allow a vehicle to continue operation with a failed DEF sensor by disabling the DEF sensor diagnostics.

If the lamp illuminates, it is not an indication of a problem with the vehicle but may cause the inspector to not allow the vehicle to operate in California.

Resoluton is to replace the defective oil module filter cap and thermostat.
