Certain Battery Electric Vehicles that are subject to California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations have GHG labels that are missing the CARB Enhanced EV and FCEV Statement.

Service Campaign
The right-hand shift stalk may have an improper wire harness terminal crimp within the wire harness connector. Loss of communication between the right-hand shift stalk and the vehicle may result in the vehicle being disabled after it comes to a stop, thereby increasing the risk of crash or injury. A warning will appear on the dash display when communication is lost, including transmission or engine warnings, “!” next to DNR/DNRP indicator, “-“ in the DNR/DNRP indicator, and/or chimes, depending upon whether you are operating a diesel/gas or battery electric vehicle.

Insufficient lubrication in the wheel bearing may cause the wheel hub to overheat and become damaged, which may increase the risk of a crash or thermal event . All EMUX retrofit procedures updated to make it clear that the VECU3 must have software updated and vehicle mileage confirmed correct before updating the Digital Display. Parts and Procedure section also updated to include the Vehicle Emissions Control Information label ordering and installation instructions. This label is required for all chassis involved in R2306. Included additional reference to Cummins bulletin C7014 in the procedure section for ordering emissions labels.

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
Certain Model 535/536/537/548 may have an oversized magnet carrier in the throttle pedal assembly, which may cause the pedal to stick, and may increase the risk of a crash. Driver may feel sticking or that pedal does not return to idle once released. Pressing the service brake will overcome a stuck throttle pedal and allow the vehicle to stop. All affected chassis must perform a date inspection on the throttle pedal. If the date falls on or between suspect range, 08/12/2022 through 12/14/2022, throttle pedal is considered bad and will need to be replaced. Safety Recall start date: 03/27/2025

Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
Fix-As-Fail Certain Model 535, 536, 537, and 548 chassis equipped with a PACCAR TX-8 transmission received transmission software with an incorrect variable. This software issue may cause DTC 521215-2 to set, the Transmission Dash Light to Illuminate, and shifting to be restricted. A software update is now available to fix the issue. Fix-as-Fail start date: 03/19/2025.

Safety Recall The Exterior Lighting Switch (ELS) in certain Model 535, 536, 537, 548, and 567 chassis may not function and can be reset only by a key cycle. This issue may result in non-compliance with FMVSS/CMVSS 101 and 108. Affected chassis must have the Vehicle Soft ware updated.

Info Only Unnecessary starter replacements can result from customer complaints regarding engine starting issues. A new Starter Troubleshooting Guide has been created to provide a comprehensive list of starting system checks, which should reduce unnecessary starter replacements and associated warranty claims. Engine starting system warranty claims now require a completed Starter Checklist, a Battery Pack Midtronics Report, and a Cable Drop Midtronics Report. Claims filed without these documents may be denied.

This may lead to steering gear binding, which may increase the risk of a crash.

On certain Peterbilt, New Medium Duty chassis that are equipped with the optional engine intake air Pre-Filter (option code 3281830) the Pre-Filter may become clogged and cause premature failure/breach of the primary intake air filter. In some cases, a failed/breached primary filter can result in unusually high engine RPMs and high crankcase pressure. However, a failed/breached primary filter may not exhibit any of these symptoms. The immediate fix for this issue is to modify the Pre-Filter by removing the filter media from the base plate, and then reinstalling the modified Pre-Filter base plate.

Fuse Holder
Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
The battery box located directly under the driver's side doorsteps of the cab is equipped with a 50A fuse and fuse holder that is connected directly to the battery for constant power. This fuse powers a 70A relay that is used for the safety systems of the truck and is located on the right rear side of the battery box. Due to the fitment of the battery box lid from the chassis manufacturers, moisture and debris are able to fall through the space between the battery box lid and side of the battery box body. This may lead to corrosion of the fuse and holder, which may result in failure of the fuse, loss of current flow, and ultimately the inability to operate the truck. This quality issue affects Kenworth T380 and Peterbilt 537 chassis on Jarco propane bobtail units produced from January 2023 until January 2024.

SAFETY RECALL Certain 535/536/537/548 chassis may have cab mirror glass lock rings not fully seated. This could result in loss of mirror glass, reducing rear visibility and increasing the risk of an accident or injury. Missing mirrors cause non-compliance with FMVSS 111 / CMVSS 111. Mirror glass lock rings must be inspected and, if necessary, reseated.
