The right-hand shift stalk may have an improper wire harness terminal crimp within the wire harness connector. Loss of communication between the right-hand shift stalk and the vehicle may result in the vehicle being disabled after it comes to a stop, thereby increasing the risk of crash or injury. A warning will appear on the dash display when communication is lost, including transmission or engine warnings, “!” next to DNR/DNRP indicator, “-“ in the DNR/DNRP indicator, and/or chimes, depending upon whether you are operating a diesel/gas or battery electric vehicle.

Certain Peterbilt 579EV and 520EV chassis have the First Responder Guide (FRG) label incorrectly showing the cut loop on the wrong side and are missing the Low Voltage Battery Disconnect Switch and Do Not Jump Start labels. Certain Peterbilt Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) chassis equipped with certain Accelera High Voltage Interlock Loop(HVIL) circuit configurations may experience a sudden loss of high voltage power with unintended opening of electrical contractors, which may occur without warning. This can result in a loss of propulsion and may increase the risk of a crash. Software version verification, along with the installation of an upgraded circuit overlay harness kit, is required to address this issue.

A new Starter Troubleshooting Guide has been created to provide a comprehensive list of starting system checks, which should reduce unnecessary starter replacements and associated warranty claims. Engine starting system warranty claims now require a completed Starter Checklist, a Battery Pack Midtronics Report, and a Cable Drop Midtronics Report. Claims filed without these documents may be denied.

Safety Recall Parts are now available to remedy this issue. Certain model year 2021 to 2024, 567 and 579 vehicles built from 06/22/2020 through 06/16/2023 were equipped with air tank bracket G11-6439-009mounted behind a fuel tank without a frame spacer. The air tank mounting U-bolt tips may be different lengths and could contact the fuel tank, which can result in a hole and the potential for a fuel leak. Leaking fuel may lead to an increased risk of a fire.

Fix-as-Fail - HVAC Intermittently Stops Blowing Cold Air

Safety Recall Bendix has established a repair procedure and is providing the parts to update and correct this issue. Certain tractors equipped with Bendix Intellipark Tractor Park Valve Module (PVM) may intermittently become stuck in the un-parked position and may not transition from un-parked to parked when the park switch is pulled on the vehicle dashboard. Warning which can precede or occur: Park indication LEDs on the park switch remain off after the park switch is pulled indicating that the spring brake system has not exhausted, and the vehicle is not parked. Audible exhaust sounds that typically are heard as an air-braked vehicle is parked will not be heard indicating that the vehicle is not parked.

PACCAR will reimburse customers for the local purchase of in-tank fuel additive for EPA2021 compliant MX engines. This is a one-time reimbursement. Only customers who have received E290 injector cleaning qualify for this reimbursement. See bulletin for limits and purchase tracking requirements.

RFID (Radio Frequency ID) tags are being added and used to track Non-Test Ready (NTR) trucks to efficiently locate them once they are off the production line, but still on the premises. The tags are left on the trucks which have been sold.

Vehicles shipped with a pre-wire condition are now eligible for this customer paid installation of battery monitor modules as requested.

Certain Model Year 2021-2024 chassis with PACCAR MX engines and optional fuel filter restriction virtual gauge may display incorrect restriction levels. The virtual gauge will be temporarily disabled until are vised sensor strategy is developed.
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
