Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions
This bulletin is to support the dealer network when replacing a ASL 360 ECU that requires programming on the truck.
Vehicle report
Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Software update for fault codes on Command Zone display: This software update may help remove ambiguity between active and inactive engine error codes shown on the Command Zone display.
SB_715
Pierce apparatus equipped with Command Zone multiplexing uses the cab power distribution area for determining the vehicle system voltage. However, because of voltage drop between the batteries and the cab distribution area, this is not a true representation of actual system voltage. To improve the accuracy of the Command Zone voltage gauge, a 10/2 harness will be run from the right-side battery box to Output module #1 (or Input Module #1 if Output module is not present on apparatus). This will provide a more accurate voltage input to the module responsible for populating the voltage gauge value.
SB_716
Historically, the main battery cable for the mechanical siren was attached to the cab power distribution area. The large draw of electrical current from the mechanical siren activation, would starve other electronics in the cab. Sometime causing HVAC systems, radios and other electronics to shut down. Rerouting the main battery cable to either battery box, provides an independent voltage source for the siren, causing less electrical impact to cab area components.
SB_717
Alternators with a voltage sense terminal must have a voltage sense wire installed between the sense terminal of the alternator and a positive stud of a battery in the main battery bank. The voltage sense wire provides a more accurate voltage measurement to the voltage regulator, resulting in better electrical performance.
SB_712
This bulletin will cover the general procedures for adjusting the wear pads and guide pads on Ascendant and Non-Ascendant Ladders & Platforms.
SB_709
This bulletin will provide torque ratings for constant torque clamps that are used to secure coolant hoses on Pierce Custom Chassis vehicles. See table below for details.
SB_710
This bulletin will outline and standardize a procedure for gathering HVAC system information for under-performing HVAC units. Please fill out information and perform the following tasks that are included in the checklist below, prior to submitting a technical support incident on Pierceparts.com.

As a product enhancement, larger front landing pads are available for the underside of the 100’ AAT basket, These will provide improved protection should the basket inadvertently come into contact with the ground.
SB_702
The purpose of this bulletin is to reduce labor hours by standardizing the location(s) of the unused legs of the SRP harness that contain resistors. This will help technicians in the field perform diagnostics without removing unnecessary panels while searching for these resistors.
SB_694
To provide accurate, thorough instructions on the replacement of the DEF Header on Custom Chassis vehicles.
SB_624.1
To consolidate the ASY Galvanized and E-Coat Frame Rail Repair Procedures into a combined communication to provide proper instructions for repairing frame rails that have corroded due to wear/chipping over time, road salt/brine, humidity, and improper cleaning after use.
PB_663
As a product improvement, Pierce will be changing coolant probes from a contact probe to a capacitive sensor.
PB_637.2
Fault Code 241 for the vehicle speed sensor can potentially lead to customer complaints that the vehicle's speedometer can max out or read incorrectly.
WB_653
Improper installation of the vent lines that connect the wheel ends and carrier can cause the seals to blow out and leak oil. This document is to alert our dealers to check the T3 rear axles in their coverage area and to provide how to correct improper routings and installations of vent lines and breathers.
PB_633
This bulletin will provide instruction to measure current torque rod specifications to ensure that the correct Hendrickson® TRAAX ROD® torque rods and shims (if applicable) are ordered for replacement, if desired to change to. These torque rods and their bushings have a significantly increased component life for severe-duty applications versus standard torque rods and bushings.
SB_624
Proper repair of frame rail corrosion.
PB_567
To improve customer experiences by eliminating most needs for an engineering review, this service bulletin clarifies the upgrade procedure from PMA300 to PMA500 governors. Two options are given. The first option applies only to vehicles that do not have a PUC pump and are upgrading from a PMA300 to a PMA500 governor. The second option can be used for any kind vehicle that is upgrading from the PMA300 to the PMA500 governor.

The GEN 1 Husky 3 foam pump from FSC is being discontinued. To keep supporting our customers, a conversion kit is available to install the GEN 2 Husky 3 foam pump in place of the GEN 1.
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
