To avoid this situation, a 3 amp diode can be added to the corresponding 24CO circuit to prevent electrical back-flow to the fuse. The following procedure describes the steps to follow to perform this modification.

This Maintenance Information explains that polyester reinforced silicone hoses and elbowscan be repalced by aramid reinforced hoses and elbows for improved long term durability, and that constant torque hose clamps for silicone hoses with 5/8po, 3/4po, 7/8po, 1 1/8po and 1 3/8po inside diameter (I.D) can be replaced by new WAVE SEAL type constant torque hose clamps.

On the vehicles affected by this bulletin, a corrective measure is required due to bolts coming loose at the radiator fan clutch tripod attachment to the radiator. Addition of four (4) locknuts (jam nuts) will prevent bolts to loosen.

On the vehicles affected by this bulletin, a relay needs to be added to allow the DEF to return to the tank after turning the key to the OFF position. In addition, the ACM & MCM need to be reprogrammed to the latest version.
